  1. I think you're overreacting with the headgear thing at least in the context of this video. I think they explicitly want the average person to realize the bunny girl can run around with heavy armor and a giant axe.

  2. Might not be the best guide ever, but they sure cover 90% of what a new player would need to know without going into specifics, just give them the basics and let them learn while playing.

  3. funny thing about tank stance: never mind those who forget about it (especially when it's turned off if you sync down, smh), i saw people who keep turning it on and off as well as always provoking 😀

  4. Good job on figuring out the audio issue you had before, Happy! I also saw that you addressed this in your Monday's video and I always appreciate it when someone acknowledges when something isn't up to their normal standards and takes steps to correct it (I'm ESPECIALLY sensitive to audio issues as to me it's the biggest turnoff of enjoying media since it's probably my strongest sense with me being somewhat blind).

  5. Heyo. I am one of those 'controller on PC' types. Started playing back on the PS3 so by this point it is more intuitive for me than keyboard controls. I would be playing on PS4 but mine broke down two years back, hadn't got a chance to replace it yet.

  6. I saw a lot of people clowning on this series but I personally don't understand why as I feel like these episodes were made in a very cute fashion that's easy to understand and enjoy. Now I want them to use this same sort of style to cover how to play each job in the game at a basic level as I always hear "content creators" complaining that FFXIV doesn't show players how to play their jobs even though the tool tips are pretty self-explanatory IMO. However, I always have to concede the point that just like these "content creators" I'm somewhat biased in my opinions as I've not only played this game since 2.0 and thus have seen how much easier the game is to play as compared to the slog that was all of 2.x but I also played another MMO beforehand in the form of SWTOR (Star Wars The Old Republic) which shared many of the same basic concepts as well as KOTOR and KOTOR2 which were both tab-target single-player adventure games that also had a similar feel to using abilities and just lacked a combo system.

  7. It would be nice if they made a second set of videos with one covering each role, even if they were only a few minutes each. For tanks, cover Tank Stance, Provoke VS Attack, moving/facing the enemy, etc. For DPS: cover attack combos, using buffs/debuffs, positionals, etc. For Healers cover Overhealing, Shields VS Heals, Esuna, DPSing when no heals are needed, etc.
I do agree that they did miss out on a couple of fairly important bits of info, particularly in how they just sort of off hand mentioning getting your actual job (though I do feel they also could have spared a few more seconds on making it even more clear just how important doing your class quests are instead of just making it sound like something extra you can optionally do if you're bored)

  9. So, typing this at "ep2" in the series of thigns he's watching. I jsut love how the character(s) in the series are meta aware of hte UI of the game. thatThat's hilarious and I love it.

  10. I love that they chose a healer to do the teaching. Obviously it's specifically due to being a Scholar rather than the role but you know.

Episode 0 Rescue was in combat. Teaching people can be considered a battlefield~

  12. The kitty alone is reason to watch MrHappy’s videos. 🥰 As for the these beginner guide videos, they cover the basics for players who have some experience with playing an MMO and video games in general but they’re too short to focus on all the little details. Why is our guide a bunny girl? Because it’s sexy and apparently these videos address mainly teenagers. 😂 Maybe FFXIV should have such a guide in-game. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for sharing your analysis MyHappy. ❤️
