  1. I was hoping for criterion dungeons to be their own small scale option for PVE progression in the same way mythic plus is in wow. All they turned out to be is a high difficulty side content for you to take your existing geared characters in without any real progression system in place. I've noticed that Crystalline Conflict queue times are getting long now too. I work long hours at odd times and can't really fit into the raid schedule of my FC so I guess endgame FFXIV PVE/PVP is not for me.

  2. I think perhaps there should be a better glamor piece for criterion savage… Savage raids and ultimate raids all have glamour people can work towards even after the content isn't relevant. However criterion savage only really gives you an earring to flex which can be barely visible on some races

I understand that savage likely gives currency that the normal drops and you can buy stuff with it, but here I talk about savage in particular. You only have the options of the earring or the housing item or materia with the savage currency. People want to show off their achievements, a lot of my ult raider friends think the criterion savage title is lame, and in a way I agree in comparison to all the legend titles. So I do think there should be a glamour piece that can be used to flex. Perhaps a hat? A body piece? I'm not sure

  3. Firstly, let me say, I don't find criterion dungeons fun. PTSD from mythic plus maybe.

Do I think they need more rewards? No. For the same reason I hate mythic plus. I don't want it to be a requirement.

If it is fun, then do it regardless of reward. I don't do any contetnt for rewards. if it isn't fun, I don't do it. Regardless of reward. i'm glad that I can listen to my fc doing the criterion dungeons and having fun, but also knowing I don't have to feel guilty on next raid night because I declined to do it.

  4. Idk I ignore those people. They don't understand the concept of doing something for fun. Rewards are nice, but ive never continued content I hate to get them, and locking large amounts of rewards to make people do it is what kills most games lol. It's also an experiment, they first have to see how many people will even enjoy it before they go dumping more resources into it.

  5. in my opinion they should add 2 620 tome coffer at the last boss of criterion normal 1 chest will be accessories the other one will be body pieces you can only pick one chest per week plus add the upgrade items for tome gear in the vendor you can exchange 1 upgrade item per week lastly for those who did criterion savage you can change 1 book for 50 silvers there rewards system solved

  6. I think the rewards from variant and the extreme version are ok, but the savage I think they need to fix it, because only materia and 1 wall furniture are giving… I think they missed the oportunity to put the twines and the pots that augmented the tomes gear there, like getting a weekly totem to get one of those like the 24 man raid.

Other people say that probably the next steps of the new relic will rely on those duties but we will see.

  7. I fully expected ilvl 625 gear because that kinda fits the difficulty and that would be a WoW move to implement it (not every design decision of WoW was bad in the last years)

  8. i remember same group of people crying for raid level loot in 5man dungeons in WoW.
where did it get the players? nowhere…..except more crying….next..people will be crying for solo content for BIS gearing.
don't repeat the mistakes that others have made.

  9. While I agree having a better reward incentive will keep the content going, I feel like SE is looking at this from a more PotD/HoH perspective where people challenge it just for the challenge, the title and bragging rights. Heck, they have people who have done it with every character so they're name is on the leader boards.

Maybe they should add something like that. People always like to show off.

  10. I don't think these dungeons should drop gear, but I do believe the criterion dungeons do not drop enough tomestones. They regular Criterion dungeon drops less than an expert dungeon (I am not including the roulette bonus, just the base drop rate). The criterion dungeons are harder and take as much, if not more time to complete, than an expert dungeon. So, I think they should at least have the same amount of base tomestones, or maybe even 5 more.

  11. ngl this seems to have been a recoring things with some of the content they have been releasing they absolutly nail it when it comes to the content itself but then somehow blunder the rewards imo these dungeons should be another thing that you go in weekly to get rewards things like the upgrades for the tomestone gear or if the alliance raid is for example 610 the criterion dungeons could be 615 and work as a catchup to the actual savage with would be 620 ilvl just to give an example

Edit: if you ask me the "we cant put meaningfull rewards in harder content cause people will complain" is the worst way to go about deciding what to give players as rewards people in ff have this thing where they basicly do everything half afk most of the time and god forbid they actually have to pay attention and actually press their buttons correctly for once to get something, its that same kind of mentality that gave us things like the reworked 2 button rotation summoner where they go so far into the trivially easy that your sence of acomplishment is not even there anymore

  12. I’m concerned about if they add rewards for gearing up, it will result in people figuring out the optimal path and only doing that so they run once a week to get their loot and not bother with anything else. :z

  13. I gotta say, I really love this video because it talks about the two types of discussions about the gearing system for Criterion Dungeons and , most importantly, how it can or cannot work with the game philosophy that the devs have. As well as the possible avenues that the devs can take things moving forward.

  14. People who want hard content shouldn't want hard content to have too many rewards. Why? Because that will cause people who don't really want to do hard content to want to do it for the rewards, and then complain and the content will be watered down. If you really don't want hard content and just want more gear then keep complaining.

  15. Criterion need gear. So why it doesn't drop gear or gear upgrades?
You trade exploration map (eureka/bozja) with island + var/crit dungeon.
The thing is you have way more stuff drops and things to do in eureka/bozja. They are evergreen content, while var/crit dungeons are dead content once everyone done it. Just take a look at old savages, It's hard to find people to do sync. Sure it's just a 4 person dungeon, but sometimes 3 is just 3 too many.
The chair mount is tradeable, so you just have to wait for some crazy people to farm it for gil.
Another problem with var dungeon is the duty finder. How do you decide where to go for your notes? What if the party does one you already have. That's why I just solo it. The description said solo is challenging but possible. I think it's so easy it's a joke. Just go warrior, you can eat damage. Spirit dart is so strong I'm doing just a little less damage than a dps.

  16. Let us get shines, brines, and twines with the currency from it. Let's us gear alts that way without potentially having to wait another 16 weeks of savage reclears if you don't win them.

  17. Doing Variant you can get: Silkie mount, Noir glam, 2 minions, TT cards, Emote, few Achievements, (and cool stories)
In Criterion: Mount, Orchestrion Scroll, and Materias, +1 Achievement

I see that comparing to some other savage content maybe players would prefer to have something more that would make them come back and do it weekly: some weekly bonus, maybe special glam to grind bit more (like in Delubrum), maybe achievement for clearing it with different roles (like in PotD) etc… but for me completing Savage is a Reward itself 😛

I treat the first Variant/Criterion as a TEST RUN, so maybe adding too much would not be a good idea, if they would need to made more changes. And then with next to build up with feedback for players.

Also: as a Completionist, I am against any seasonal rewards xD no more!
