Guests: Fandy, BoobaCampbell, & Crow
Discussion: We bring on players from the FFXIV RP community to discuss venues and the overall roleplaying scene in the game. Fandy bringing in a new player experience, while Booba and Crow discuss the veteran side of roleplaying. Was a fantastic and informative discussion.

Frosty, I just got into FFXIV in this most recent wave of refugees, and your show has been like crack to me. Such great guests and discussion. Keep doing you, brother!
Regarding things that help RP, I'm really hoping that the devs renege on their stance on one dungeon a major patch. At first I was okay with it, who likes running dungeons? But even though it wasnt their fault, getting nothing but Grand Cosmos really made me think that there are definitely more places in Norvrandt to explore, more threats to take care of. I do miss revisiting old places to see how they change. Dungeons really help the world feel bigger, and more of them, at least the amount we got in ARR and HW, isnt a bad thing.
Dropped the video as soon as i heard 'DUH MAIL GAIZ'
Everyone in the game is sexualized, everyone, in all media, is sexualized because THAT is what people WANT to see. They whine about DUH MAIL GAIZ because of APPEALING FEMININE CHARACTERS, yet I don't ever hear them whine about the hyper masculine men who are JUST AS SEXUALIZED and never demand that the men get toned down.
Can't have it both ways. Either they're both acceptable, or they're both UNacceptable. Make up your mind.
Seriously, I bet these people whine about marvel and DC heroes being 'oversexualized' and 'appealing to the MAIL GAIZ' yet they cheer on prostitutes, onlyfans, and other women, (Since they ONLY whine about the women otherwise) who do exactly what they're whining about, and call it stunning and brave.
Will never watch your video's again. And I only discovered you last week.
Edited for punctuation.
that tax collecting goblin is an excellent idea lol
deathrolling is the best game ever invented
U lost me the second someone said "cis gender men"
Is it me or did Fandy even speak ?
I really wish you'd had at least one Crystal main on for this… My new-player experience on Balmung has been radically different to the kind of venue-centric nightclub RP you're all involved with. Instead it's been heavily independent, character-driven RP. You make yourself a carrd with a Bio and some RP Hooks, then you go out into the world WU/T'ing players who consent to that in their search comments… I have 30 days /playtime, and my character's still only level 64 because I spend the vast majority of that time doing this kind of RP; finding other adventurers and doing hunt logs or treasure maps together, or RPing job progression with higher level players.
The best I can describe it is: Like a huge D&D convention, where you take your own character sheet around, sit yourself down at random tables, play for a bit, and then keep note of the ones that really clicked so you can go back to those players and arcs in the future.
The few venues that I've even been to, which includes brothels, all had strict RP-exchange Only rules, and frowned on Gil exchanges… Which is not to say that doesn't exist on Crystal, just that the introduction to RP doesn't seem to lead into it *at all*.
I think it's really cool that in these trying times, people have been able to turn to FF14 for comfort and companionship, and it's really cool that there are such a wide array of tools in the game to allow people to do so.
And I think people who are new to the game might take some of this for granted, but the game didn't always have the range of expression people are capable of now. This is the result of years and years of the community asking for additions to make the game experience more immersive, allow characters to be more expressive, and be able to do more and more cool stuff with housing; and the Dev team listening and working with the community. Even ultimately inconsequential (to most people) additions to the game, like the facial expression emotes, feels like a sort of love letter to the community that says "please continue to enjoy our game"
