The single target stuff is fun and all, but my favorite changes are the second stack of triplecast that we got for some reason and the 120s manafont cooldown, as that means I get to go through basically every dungeon pull with a triple flare. I'll use manafont on the first use of triplecast for the flares, and then pop an ether for the second set of three. Manafont is up by the time we get to the boss, and the ether cooldown is usually done by the time we get to the second pull after the boss unless we're being incredibly speedy.

I'm a big fan of the extended thundercloud proc, and I feel like nobody mentions it
normal blm rotation is fun and all but the transpose rotation is pretty pepega but a dps increase if its done consistently.
YoshiP told the team "Make my main job amazing or you're fired."
From a standard player perspective, BLM feels great!
From a pepega transpose skip ice player perspective, BLM is arguably very badly balanced right now. Ice phase is a tad weak. (Especially for AOE… that cursed Transpose Lucid Dreaming line).
I think literally the only change I'd like to see with BLM is just for scathe to cost 0 mp so you can actually use it for movement (and also ditch the additional effect on scathe so you don't risk wasting sharpcast on it). Either that or just ditch scathe altogether. Though it's literally just a nitpick and BLM is practicaally perfect right now.
I don’t care how much marginally extra dps I get from the transpose rotations, having to even look at that button much less touch it after umbral soul unlocks makes me want to die

For me the two things that hold the job back currently are the number balancing and spellspeed tier. The transpose rotation feels terrible, it definitely isn't how the class is intended to be played but it's sad that we need to do this janky rotation to maintain decent damage for how (arguably) risky the job still is. As for SpS, right now we're kind of in a weird limbo state with the BiS gear not providing enough, which will change in about a month's time when we get more gear options.
I'm very happy with BLM in EW. I am a fairly casual BLM main and I was afraid that the meme where BLM has the same spells but completely different rotation every 10 levels would come true again. They just smoothed out the entire curve instead and it feels so much better to play. Triplecast and Sharpcast having 2 charges is fantastic, and I love the fact that Thundercloud and Firestarter procs now last 30 seconds instead of 18. Who even came up with that initial number anyway?
theres one change Id like to see that will never happen and that is for fire and ice 3 to get removed and their effects added to fire 1 and ice 1 to save you 2 buttons in your hotbar
Extended Thunder Proc was a god send imo. The only gripe I have is the paradox for Astral Fire should also be insta cast. This would make Black Mage so much mobile, especially when being chased by multiple puddle mechanics. I am somewhat indifferent about the new AOE rotation. The setup takes longer than what it used to be. And the mobs pretty much dies just as you finish casting 2nd Flare in a decent group. Perhaps the mobs will get beefed up later in the patches.
I really love the changes to BLM in endwarker. One of the best things is that you can switch to ice from zero mp from level one. That makes playing BLM in down synced content a lot more enjoyable. I dont like the hole Transposeline stuff, i get it that it is more optimal but i dont enjoy it. For my it brings my out of allingement with the fights, i dont know. But when Paradox gives me a firestarter proc i use transpose to switch to fire again after my paradox in Umbral ice.
RDM is in it's best state it's ever been in, so it'll be interesting hearing what you think on it compared to BLM.
Definitely get a stack of cheap ethers for quad flares, it's so satisfying
As someone who put a thousand hours into BLM on Shadowbringers I have to say that it feels… odd. It's probably me just needing to get used to it, but the thunder refresh timing is just off, not having Paradox + long Thunder timing makes it so that you are pretty boned on UI phases pre 90, and pre 80 you don't even have Xeno so you are just left with 2x B4. The AoE rotaton is amazing tho, feels like we finaly got one.
Removing encohian was a huge mistake imo. The people who complained about it just didn't learn how to maintain it under pressure, thats what made the Job fun, now it's easier then red mage lmao
