I loved it so much I started a second character to play through the whole thing again (My first is omni 90 and just waiting for content). A second playthrough while knowing the story actually ended up having me catch a lot more subtle things that I didn't notice the first time.
I like the idea of a summary mini movie of ARR for people that skip over it. The difference in quality is massive. Unfortunately, the voice actor for Count Edmont passed away a year or two ago so they would need to get a different narrator.
I think the biggest thing about Heavensward that was the most remarkable to me is that not only are we given the chance to grow close and learn from this new cast of characters — but to really see and engage with so many different perspectives of the same problem. I think the beauty of FFXIV’s story is the washes of gray throughout each branch of the story and Heavansward’s was I think by far so fun and compelling between how Ishgard felt about the dragons, and then the characters themselves! I adored this expansion, and I still rate it pretty high as my favourites!
Trial: Sophia bcuz I honestly just enjoy the lore behind her and the song that plays is light and relaxing even tho the subject so dark.
Lines: Anything from Urianger bcuz his name of speaking is so uniquely him. No other character in game speaks in the same dialect and it just tickles me to hear him speak while everyone else is left to translate xD.
MVP:Fray from the DRK quest line.
Dungeon: No HW dungeon stuck out to me really.
Solo duty: The DRK quest at level 50. Plot twist nearly made me cry.
Beast tribe: Unofficially the dragons but since they have no quests I'll have to choose moogle. I genuinely hate the moogles so much I sit and watch Whole Foods fate fail just to see a moogle die but their mount is cute(by comparison) and they give a cute dance and fuzzy slippers.
Outfit: Once again gotta show Urianger some love. That original outfit was hiding just how sexi he is but when we finally see him outside of it damn xD
Zone: I suppose that would be Azys La. Periodically there is a storm that literally with strike you with thunder signaling a special fate. I like the idea of someone just being KO'd by a random thunderstorm xD

Great. Now I really wanna replay Heavensward.
Not a complaint in the least, this video was great! I've been meaning to go back through the entire game myself on an alt since during my first playthrough, about a year and a half ago, I struggled with the ARR story and missed a ton of key worldbuilding and small details. I mentioned in an earlier video that I'm working my way through all of the side quests in every zone for this reason which has been really fun. I've cleared every map until shadowbringers except for the starting cities. The little clips you put in here really drew me back into the experience of Heavensward though and once I finish playing Star Ocean, I might just finally get to that playthrough, lol.
Favorite Trial – Thok ast Thok. Ravan is a fun and creative fight and I would do it a million times just for the music!
Favorite Lines – Too many to count
MVP – Estinien/Lucia. Lucia for basically the same reasons. Estinien because I felt we really learned about the depth of the hatred of dragons on a personal level through him. He is far from the only person with a tragic story, but he's the personal example that we get to really understand this war and how it has resolved many Ishgardians against the dragons.
Favorite Dungeon – Saint Mocianne's Arboretum. Just love the vibe of the place.
Favorite Solo Duty – I honestly don't remember any of them
Favorite Beast Tribe – The Vath
Favorite Outfit – Thancred. Not really practical, but love the look.
Favorite Zone – Dravanian Forelands
Best part in HW for me was the introduction of a concept that's always been in every FF game, but wasn't introduced to FF14 before the expansion: Party.
Traveling with Alph, Estine, Iceheart, learning more about them, seeing their growth, hear them explain their perspective of the problem that we were all facing, it was kind of amazing, but also something that had always been quite fundamental to past FF mainline(numbered) titles. That was the best part for me
I had almost forgotten about Thancred’s Heavensward look. For the longest time I was like “He went from, Nice to meet you Sir, I’ll have her home by 10, to Your daughter calls me Daddy too” 😂 such a glow up
But in all seriousness, I do want to go back and play Heavensward again. I rushed through it at the time and missed half of the dialogue because I used to be on discord with my friend who would always talk over everything haha…
