  1. Started playing august last year, and honestly, the more I play the more I'm falling in love with FF. WoW has absolutely 0 appeal to me now and I know it will never reach FF in terms of quality and community.

  2. I'm leveling a Paladin atm (lvl46) & Just got into doing mining & It's just as much fun leveling that side job. FF14 while not a perfect game, Makes playing in general & trying out new stuff like Crafting / Gathering, Treasure maps, the new PvP, Etc… Fun!
Somethings aren't for everyone & since it's not forced on you to do all the things, It's great to just legit try out differant stuff & actually have some Fun doing so.

  3. Think of it as FFXIV is a detox game for your bad habits you picked up from other MMORPG. The pain and impatience you feel when you start out in FFXIV is the sign that your expectations are being challenged and being etched away

  4. Just tell a pvper to play the pvp its dog shit the rest of the game is good though nothing they can do will ever fix the pvp . Sad as it is to say. I love the game I just dont sit there and play it forever and raid over and ovcer and over the fact that the pvp is so fucking terrible by far the worst out of any mmo that i have tried. I played this game a lot so I can talk a bit about it played off and on since the version trash 1.0. I am not even a wow player i am the guy that use to play every mmo BUT wow up till recently. After Towelliee helped to kill wildstar basically gw2 is cool but meh pvp sucks because people hack and fly around invincible then make videos about it and do not get banned ever.

  5. I know that it is popular to say that FF is a WoW detox game, but my little brother who never played WoW is also struggling with settling into ARR. It is understandable since ARR involves a lot of build up and info dumps and simple(r) questing, but I also think that he's been raised on dopamine spikes from non-story based gaming (Rocket League and LOL etc)… So he's also gotta learn how to enjoy FF, albeit in his own way. Hoping that he really gives story a chance leading up to the 2.0 finale. 🙂

  6. Play the game? Are you crazy?
It's much better to experience half of a single expansion before being forcibly booted off of it and funneled to the current expansion story content!
    Duh!

  7. This might be hard to hear but i hated the story. I skipped so much. I specifically hate when games give you big story arcs in the beginning and end then fill the rest with filler junk quests. FF14 does that a lot. It wasn't fun it was boring. Its fine if others enjoyed it but definitely not for everyone. Assuming every mmo player cares about story and quests and will fall in love with it cause you do is silly.
If i wanted to read i would read a book.
BDO despite all its other flaws does it the best. You can skip it all, no more kill 10 whatever quests, no more pick up 10 whatever quests, no more running back and forth from npc to npc across the world for small amounts of filler dialogue. One button press and you skip it all, for free, get the same rewards as if you completed it and move on with your life.
I didn't mind the cut scenes but the game really needs a setting where you can skip non important dialogue without having to wait for them to talk while spamming left mouse button on the box at the bottom of the screen… I know people who love ff14 and still told me they skipped so much dialogue and instead went and watched a 10 minute youtube video to get caught up with the story they missed later.

I know i can pay to skip ff14's story. Asking someone to pay up or slog through countless hours of stuff they don't like just to maybe have some fun at the end is pretty bs, especially for a game that claims they care about your time. I didn't do any of that, i quit before the end of the second expansion and played a different game.

  8. Yeah. Clicking a person, walking 3 feet, clicking a shiny, walking 3 feet, talk to someome, black screen, walk 10 feet, click shiny…so riveting. The msq is so awfully paced, combined that with the abysmal combat while leveling…. i should have to bored for 80 hours before the game "gets good". 🙃

  9. The mentality of having the story of a game in a separate book actually really disgusts me to hear. ^^
The majority of WoW Players can't seriously want something like that, or do they really?
That just sounds completely absurd to me.
