Final Fantasy XIV is a very well constructed MMORPG, with a beginning levelling experience that surpasses any other MMO on the market. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have any complaints however…

Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

More about Final Fantasy XIV:

“Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG and features a persistent world in which players can interact with each other and the environment. Players create and customize their characters for use in the game, including name, race, gender, facial features, and starting class. Unlike in the original release, players may only choose to be a Disciple of War or Magic as a starting class—Disciples of the Hand and Land are initially unavailable. Players must also select a game server for characters to exist on. While servers are not explicitly delineated by language, data centers have been placed in the supported regions (i.e., North America, Europe, Japan) to improve the communication latency between the server and the client computer and players are recommended to choose a server in their region. Regardless of server or language, the game features a large library of automatically translated game terms and general phrases which allow players who speak different languages to communicate.”

  1. Kinda bad move skipping his convention part, the least you can do when reacting to a video, is not skipping their "ads" which is just him helping a friend, just disrespectful.

  2. "The universe is not spiraling into a heat death, it is most likely spiraling into sheer cold nothingness…"

But… That's what Heat Death means @.@. Not that the universe will explode but the universe will expand so that heat or any any energy can no longer bind and form.

  3. Calling an advertisement for an ingame event weird and then using the content that follows as reaction content is kinda…i dunno…disrespectful. Maybe it wasn't meant that way but it sounds really rude and arrogant…

  4. I removed the portion at the beginning of JoCat's video thinking it was nothing more than an advertisement. I was trying to get you guys to the good part of the video, while trying to save you from any unwanted parts. Thank you for taking the time to correct me in the comments of this video, or else I never would have understood the lengths to which JoCat is going at here to help his friend with his in game convention. My reading comprehension issues fail me again, and I'm very sorry.

  5. He's done some other song stuff, truly a renaissance man, check out his Crap Guide to D&D races for a 5 min rap about… well d&d races. Also the I like Girls animation 😀

  6. I fell in love with scholar. But after 5.0 they took away a lot of our fun stuff. It’s still ok. But the healing isn’t as potent as whm.

The thing that ticks me off tho about whm is all I see now is holy spam. That’s great and all but I should not be down to 20%hp as a tank and still see holy going off. He’s right though. It’s a balance that you have to kind of figure out. Depends on your tanks gear and where you are.

  7. Yeah, healing in FF14 is different than in WoW. In WoW, you generally don't have the time to do dps other than tossing a few dots every now and then from when I played WoW. In FF14, healers have the time to do dps and generally should. The only time I don't dps as much as a healer is in big pulls and I need to spam heals on the tank to keep him alive.

  8. You don't need to know the fights to play Scholar or Nocturnal Astro.
Just shield the party when you think the boss is about to deal damage.
Shields give you safety. Either you are right and you'll look like you knew what you were doing or you are wrong and you will probably still block the next attack anyway because shields stay up half a minute. You really can't go wrong with a shield.
I personally think that White Mages need to know MORE about fights since their movement isn't as free as a Scholar's.

  9. If you have any interest in D&D or Monster Hunter World, he has done full series of similar videos for the classes, races, and being a DM in D&D and the weapons in MHW.

  10. You say he's wrong about the heat death of the universe. And then you describe exactly what he meant. The universe expanding infinitely and going cold AKA heat death!

  11. Some forget that Blue Mages does have healer spec. They are so different in terms of healing it's borderlines in ridiculousness lol. For example, my blue mage healer is a combination of Ninja/Paladin/White Mage/Scholar. The amount of responsibility you get is hilariously convoluted. I think everyone should try Blue Mage only raids and earn their special mounts.

  12. If you want to regen heal I recommend also picking up Astro, it will become a pure regen healer in Endwalker. And it is nice to play a cardgame in the middle of a fight 😀

  13. I’m here to tell you all to visits Lunarcon! It’s an online convention happening on the crystal data center in the critically acclaimed game Final Fantasy 14!

  14. lol sounds like you got heat death kinda backwards there. Understandable, some people can get confused into assuming "heat death of the universe" means death via heat, when it actually means the end, or "death" of all heat energy in the universe.

  15. WHM is ez mode healing, which is fine. Very powerful healer overall, but it's also pretty boring… so many panic buttons that give you freebie heals. AST is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work, as not only do you have to heal and dps, but you get to apply buffs to your party members. You also get to choose between standard healing and shield healing to suit your style… that is until Endwalker, then AST moves over to a more standard healer.

  16. correction, although right by the scope of the universe is going into a cold death, truth is, for us mere mortals on this space rock, we're going into a Heat Death, as the sun is bound to expand and fry us (eventually).

  17. He has done a bunch of musical things, he did an entire 5/6 min long video about the playable races in D&D as well as a short parody to the boys song about liking girls of all kinds

  18. Note: heat death is generally used to refer to the universe reaching thermal equilibrium, not the big crunch, so the correction is likely misplaced, unless you ascribe to the big rip variant, where dark energy accelerates thing to the point even subatomic particles come apart

  19. Obviously I don't know how the shield healers will work out in Endwalker, but dw – in casual content you won't ever have to shield really, because df can put you in a duty with two non-shield healers, so mandatory shields would be bad design. And in Ultimate/Savage/Ex you will learn the fight well enough anyway so you know when to shield.
