video playback volume is too low compared to your audio
Definitely watch Ciderspiders Mad because small and Pint's I enslaved my FF14 guild.
I like how the instant you return to FFXIV there's two skimpy furry anime girls dancing next to you, proving the video 100% correct.
I don't play or have played either game ever, not a single time, I just don't get the jokes.
I really tried to play ff14… I really couldnt take it. The combat & graphics I couldnt.
Might be trigger warning for ff14 players below:
I havent skipped anything but story was just mid. It just wasnt interesting to me.
Now he needs to react to jocat and lucy pyer
Have fun in Eorzea Koe! I cant wait for you to meet the PuertoRican VA đ
I experienced one whipe in FF14 where the group got super toxic like that, was in shadowbringers funnily enough during the time a bunch of WOW players came over, was a bit later on a heal (but then with the speed the tank died, could have been a mit issue as I normally play tank and was healing as a 1 off) group got super toxic over the one whipe, seemed they were a group and kicked me, only time I reported anyone, got feedback that they were banned
I know the video is super circle jerky, but man. Every time Blizz does something greedy as hell, which they've been doing pretty much every month. I want to cheer on their demise.
Excellent Joe Rogan impression at 5:00, my liege.
Now he needs to react to pint
Name a character who had a better ending then the undead healer form Captain Grim videos, I'll wait.
Nah, we wouldn't eat your nads for skipping a cutscene… we would make YOU eat them. đ
But joking aside, in my 1 1/2 years of playing FF14, I've only seen someone quit a duty after a single wipe once. And even then we just got a new member in and cleared the content anyway, without the griever. ^^
Once you get to a dozen wipes on a trial on the other hand, there is a good chance people will leave, but even then I've yet to see anyone trashtalk. They either leave without saying a word or give a short apology or something.
When I was suddenly hit by lag-spikes so hard, I couldn't heal my party properly anymore, leading to two wipes, I offered to leave, but the others said it'd be fine and we would make it somehow, and eventually we did.
i cant believe he skipped
I hope he learns the story behind the painting reworks
XIV's community is REALLY defensive. But that's because well, that video basically shows how we're treated. People play it like WoW and try to turn it into ANOTHER WoW, and we don't WANT that shit in the community. There's people who legit try to push that one-wipe-Disband, there's folks who legit skip cutscenes and then complain when they don't know WTF is happening, and then there's Quinn. Oh my god. There's a reason he's a meme for all the BAD parts of the community.
Ffxiv player here, permission granted to skip and cause chaos xD
I skipped originally and played NG+ into post Stormblood, but I got bored and abandoned NG+ because I fell a long way behind lmao, back to skipping everything again
Skip all scenes and dialogue, noone fukkin cares lol
I remember a story on Reddit when a WoW player tried out FFXIV, joined a party, the party wiped, they braced for the toxicity and was confused when the response was "its okay, you're new đ wanna try again?"
it disbands because people are running timed mythic+, if you die, you lose time, which at higher +20 just means you didnt timed it
4:54 BASED!
I love the little details about the hypocrisy of the more degenerate RP side of both games. Not only because of the player races, but how WoW's… ahem …scene makes FF14 look like Pride And Prejudice by comparison.
Something something âtime thatâs enjoyed being wasted is not time wastedâ
In all my time playing FFXIV since I started, Iâve maybe only had one or two real instances of everyone getting fed up and leaving
We buckle in and take it step by step to figure out whatâs not clicking for somebody
Of course that doesnât cover the entire community, but itâs definitely not a rarity like some would try to have you believe
video not improved by chewing into the mic, please stop
there's a reason the "anti story skippers" memes exists, cuz many loved the story of ff14, tbf ARR is a hard sell to new players and i wouldnt blame u for skipping the cutscenes there tbh due to how tedious it can be, but it is rewarding knowing how the story of ARR was leading to the next expansions, where the story telling gets better.
so ye, i can see some ppl to crazy on skipping story, but in the end, play on what u think is fun, but i will recommend experiencing the story properly cuz its actually THAT good.
I think that in 10 years playing this game, the only time I've seen real toxicity in a pick-up party was on Alexander A1N raid, 1 or 2 days after the raids were first released.
First run for most of the players, we wiped on Faust and one player got mad at the rest of the party, saying none of us should be there as we didn't even have the Ravana weapons. He left and we cleared it a few minutes after. I guess the guy got 7 GM reports filed against him after that.
Played FFXIV for about a year and started around the time the WoW Refugee was going on. Only ever experienced 1 toxic person and it was kind of funny.
We were fighting the wind harpy in ARR and wiped. Insta-toxic immediately. Fight not hard, how could you fail this, ect ect. We then wiped 2 more times and he got worse. He left the instance after that. We were all like wtf was their problem?
New tank entered and we cleared immediately. We are were like huh… maybe it was the toxic persons fault we couldnt clear and laughed about it. Wished each other a good day after that and went on our way.
Reported him after and within 10 min got a response from a GM saying that he had been taken care of. I was very impressed.
in regards to the skipping if it hasn't been pointed out, you can catch missed dialogue in one of the chat tabs. npc or systems or something, i forget which. i know i've accidentally skipped dialogue many times.
if it happens during a cutscene, you can hit enter to bring up the chatbox. if you want to hide it again to enjoy the cutscene, iirc, you right click the end piece of the chat tabs.
not sure what the controller equivalents are.
The specifics of the joke about the players getting mad for skipping cutscenes is because when the WoW refugees really started hitting FF14, there was this whole thing with a popular streamer who skipped all the cutscenes and then criticized the plot that he hadn't seen as too confusing and bad. Part of the playerbase got super defensive, and part of it turned it into a big joke.
Captain Grim is a great channel. He has animations better than some official Blizzard cinematics and even does an occasional documentary on significant player-made events in WOW history.
I'm so glad you reacted to this video! Grim did such a good job on it~
It's kinda wild how much of XIV's culture comes from having to interact with WoW refugees constantly
Yes they disband in WoW.
The logic is it's gonna be shorter sitting in DPS que than clearing with a "BAD" team….
They are not… smart let's just say, but every one of them dreams of being the next Method, just like every Bronze player in League talks like they ALREADY ARE Faker himself. đ
Source: I'm both a WoW and LoL veteran with may or may not some lifelong trauma.
GW2 may sh** on FFXIV for gameplay, but FFXIV is a haven and goldmine for WoW players. We already pay a higher sub on WoW than we do for FFXIV, and FFXIV is littered with so much more content and fun things to do than WoW.
Captain Grimm's video here will age quite nicely as WoW deteriorates or fails to live up to the hype they generate.
4:54 ACCURATE!!! You better remember that XDDDDD
Koe SKIPPED dialogue in FFXIV!? Cancel him! Cancel him right now!11!!
The fact that this is still a thing makes me giggle.
So iirc there was a bit during the mass WoW exodus where people were coming to the game and playing it like WoW, which, I guess thats not a huge issue. The problem is that this means a lot of people saw the slog quests and only the slog quests, and didn't actually experience the literal biggest draw of the game. Yeah the quest design in 14 is oftentimes abysmal but the story is a great reward and if you're skipping it, of course you'll be bored faster, you skipped the best part and there's less content for you to do now.
very accurate description of both WOW-DEVs/Players and FFXIV-Players. I also go apeshit on everyone who skips. I actually tell people to just not tell me if they skip, so we both can live in sweet ignorance.
