  1. Frustrated with the $$$$ grubbing. WoW became no fun to play when it turned into nothing but a dungeon grind or eveything became a perpherial grind to boost the dungeon power…..

  2. In FXIV you can grind craft and level or grind class and level, or grind dungeons to level, or play murder hobo. Bth dungeons and murder hobo cotribute to levelling along with side quests that boost the MSQ. You can out level the MSQ, but once you start rolling alts, you can level them without the MSQ if you do not want to.

  3. Recently switched to FF from WoW. The only big thing I will miss is “the arena.” It should be it’s own standalone game at this point….its the only thing I like about currently world of Warcraft.

  4. Just finished ARR content last night. Great story. However, I'm finding out that you need to do about another 80 main story quests before you get to do any Heavensward xpac content. This normally wouldn't bother me but you get jack for xp (because all of the quests are the patches for ARR) so you are effectively stalled leveling wise as far as questing until you do all 80 of them and can then move on to HW content.

  6. FF 14 Sprouts! Take your time and enjoy the game! There is SO much to do in game, even as an 8 year player, I never run out of things to do. At 80, you can decide to do housing, try glamours (Transmorg), raids, that are harder than anything you will find in WoW, sightseeing log, crafting, playing the MB (auctions) and so much more with one character!! No alts to worry about. Beast tribes (dailies) that doesn’t take a dam year to boost up…. I can go on and on, but you can try the trial FREE through TWO expansions and to lvl 60. What are you waiting on?

  7. I'll say Stormblood is 'worse' than Heavensward for me… but that's not really an insult since I love Heavensward; if it's a 9 then Stormblood is an 8 (ShB being a 9.5 and ARR maybe a 7.5 or so). I had a couple issues with the story and character direction pretty much from the beginning (in Stormblood that is) but those are really subjective. Gameplay and content wise no major complaints about it.

  8. ff dies sooooo fucking hard once u finish the msq an reach 80……….iv spent the past 2 days trying to find a group for 1 raid……that i need to do multiple times….for my shadowbringers relic armour………why are there 3 difficulty lvls when u cant even populate 1 difficulty que…….also there are soooo many things that u do at max lvl an stuff like melding meteria an stuff…..that the game never tells u anything about till ur pretty much at a point u wanna use em which is max lvl…….but its locked behind a quest that was at start of the game that requires me to be a lvl 19 in a fucking proffession job to even start……….. half the shit the game should be telling u an explaining to u…….or outright shouldnt be locked behing anything in first place………..i guess bell likly doesnt have this problem since he is surrounded by fan bois explaining everything………the story is repetative af aswel……….if come to a new area i already know that im going to have to "get info from locals" then likly "scout the area" then "collect whetever pointless crap from the 20 or so back an forth fetch quests" and to "ttake back control" from whoever or whatever is the bad guy in the zone…………other than the deep ness of the story…..and some unique side quests….. im still trying to find this amazing game everyone is talking about…….an im max lvl an ffinished the story……….id say it was better than wow of the story telling alone………….why is my shadowebringers relic for my gunbreaker locked behing a bloody side quest chain from a previous expansion……..when people said they reuse old content this isnt what i wanted nore expected…….locking everything behing the msq is one thing… but locking some of the main gear in the expansion behing old exspansion side quests????? nah man thats some conviluded half assed way of making an reusing content an extending play time…..are they honestly expecting people to stop at the end of each expansion and do all the side quests an patch stuff to unlock all of that expansions stuff before they go to the next???? gtfo…….iv had to search online about where shit is an what quest i needed more times than iv ever had to with wow…..and thats just to unlock basic stuff………an thats without getting into the fight….like is there a journal that explains fights an what to do???? or are we expected to just die until we learn? or some else tells us? because certain mechanics are next to impossible to figure out ffor a new player……. i mean if there IS i journal…i wouldnt know because the game ether wouldnt tell me, its locked behind some random starting quest for some reason….. or its there its just hidden so deep in the menus that ur never gonna see it………………….everything about this game screams AMAZING rpg….but fairly average mmo……..but its not really an mmos if it pretty much ends once u finish the story is it……thats a single player game……….everyone saying im playing the game wrong….im not….this is an mmo not a single player rpg………ff is a single player rpg with some really cool mmo aspects tacked on….atleast imo….i just dont see what is gonna keep player playing after the story…..which is the pont of an mmo……

  9. Started playing FFIV a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it. It's really fun and the people are great.
I canceled my sub to wow a few months back and doubt I will play again anytime soon.
I dont find it fun, just really boring an no interesting, were as FFIV there is lots to do and taking your time playing and enjoying everything from how crafting works and leveling my character. I should have signed up sooner.
I hope you still keep having fun in FFIV

  10. The thing I like most about ffxiv is the community, it's so much more welcoming than the toxic and elitist WoW community… I'm glad I unsubbed and deleted B.net, never coming back to that steaming pile of shit again.. Keep being elitist WoWtards that's why nobody wants to play with you

  11. People being toxic due to frustration is understandable, but it will always be that persons fault and therefore stupid unacceptable behavior. If you are so frustrated with a game to the point where u feel this need to vent on strangers, stop playing the damn game. WoWs current status has alot to do with people undying loyalty to the game. Its not always a good thing to be that loyal.

  12. WOW has always been a bad mmo, only good for being a theme park with a new ride each expansion and nothing that makes the world something you can live in with others. If it went the direction of games with role-playing elements like Runescape, UO, FFXIV, SWG, etc then the world content built up since launch would be deep and amazing by now.

  13. I am probably too old for FF. I left WOW because of the toxic crap I had to deal with. In FF I thought I had found the perfect game. However every once and a while I had to do a solo instance even though I was grouped !! My 76 year old reflexes gave me a hard time to complete them. Oh well life is a B—h and then you die.

  14. the early stages are drag, you just need to survive to around Lv35 before it becomes decent. New players advice, Just do the MSQ quests it will level you up fast anyway and you'll catch up with the story for the next expansion and unlock mostly all main features. Do some Blue Quests from time to time depending on interest or what it unlocks.

FFXIV need to work more on their Tutorials and their menus and maps, its absolutely not a noob-friendly. If this fixed this, it'll attract way more new players to MMO genre.

  15. I'd like if Bel also gave a thorougfh try and commentary for some other current successful MMOs, especially Black Desert Online and Elder Scrolls Online. BDO is very chill, community/crafting driven. ESO has a really good horizontal progression that doesn't invalidate content with every new chapter. Two strong qualities Blizzard could ABSOLUTELY learn from.

  16. I see a lot of people who are like ARR just sucks lol, grind to get through. In the end I would recommend people to play the game at their own pace and be sure not to boost, because I'm pretty sure most of the "hate" for ARR is just after seeing what future content (Stormblood, shadowbringers was like). It's very important to understand ARR for it's world building and the characters you'll know and possibly come to love over the next significant period of time playing the game, and lol ARR and post ARR aren't that bad, it's basically a meme that it's hated because of like going for a jog during Praetorium and standard MMORPG quests. Good luck friends!

  17. I'm trying out Final Fantasy 14 and I don't love it much. I'm only level 32 and I've been almost exclusively doing Story Quests since around level 10. The story quest (and doing each dungeons / guildeves once) are boosting me through levels like crazy. I am not exploring the world much (which I could do, but the Story quest is where you unlock the content AFAIK), and all I do is walk and talk and walk and talk (and sometimes kill 3 mobs) in repeat. It's still fun™ to see that level bar go up and unlocking new skills, but I really hope there's some light at the end of that tunnel!

  18. Wow caters to cheaters ffxiv caters to the players.. it's an easy pick when starting out in a new mmo. Wow doesn't even have an anit cheat system. Ffxiv does ban waves ever 2-3 months but blizzard once a year..
