  1. On the topic of YP allowing third party this or that:
People make up or telephone along the mistaken idea that "Yoshi P said we could" with some arbitrary not-as-bad third party tool. Why? Why would they do that? SE is not going to risk promoting any specific program outside of their control to affect their game. Endorsing some random coder they don't pay, don't have oversight over or quality control is not a position they want to put themselves in for literally no good reason if some disgruntled petty TPP developer decides to load up some malicious code on their github and pushes that through.

If you don't think that could happen, all you need to do is look up drama inside the modded minecraft community over the years.

  2. By far the dumbest argument I've seen an alarming number of people attempting to throw out in the wake of this is that people using an ultrawide monitor should be banned for having an unfair advantage…..

  3. Doing it because other people are doing it isn't a good enough excuse for this situation.

Yoshi P makes this content, so that people can enjoy the hard content. Not so they can exploit it for world first fame.

If those players were truly playing the hard content because they enjoy hard content then it shouldn't matter what other teams are using, because those teams don't affect them.

Those players are basically saying they'd rather have the fame associated with a win by cheating than the feeling of having accomplished it legitimately. And that's not a good enough excuse to justify it, lol.

  4. Title is a bit clickbaity since yeah like some of the other comments pointed out, I would not say they've been "harassed" into deleting characters. They might have just done it out of shame which fits the japanese national character. At least it's not the olden times when they carried out seppuku, right? Although to be honest, deleting your character is already kind of like seppuku.

Also i feel Miuna's hot take is somewhat unjustified. Sure you can prog offstream but how do we know you even progged offstream if you didn't tell anyone? If it weren't for the title (which you have to set) and the weapon (which you have to equip/glam), who would know you cleared an ultimate?? It's like any other athlete, you may think yourself the best in the world, but if you don't participate in competitions where people can see for themselves, who would know you are the best (or at least a strong competitor)? Saying it's audacity to not acknowledge offstream clears is just low; It's just like saying "How dare you not acknowledge that I managed to lift 10 tons all by myself, even though no one was around to see it since i didn't join any weightlifting competitions". Were those regulation weights? Were you juicing? Not saying you did but who knows if mods were used? Cactbot is still a thing last i heard.

  5. Good reporting. It's funny that with so many creators out there it's hard to find someone who can just straight up do a clean report. Normally MrHappy would cover this but unfortunately he's caught up in this whole thing too.

  6. The devs should just make a separate server just for WF raiders. With all the anti-cheat software enabled and track them (with the player's consent) so their game is guaranteed vanilla. Sure some QoL tools are harmless, like Gshade, but for the sake of fairness it has to be done. Also player's won't need to be pressured to stream.

  7. Cheaters deserve the hate. i'm sorry but people commit at least a week of their lives to prog to try and get the world first and the whole community gets behind them to cheer them on etc (so many people make a lot of sacrifices IRL to do this) so for someone to cheat and to try and claim the win and cheat others out of a true world first title is just cheap. In my eyes they deserve to lose everything account wise. It's not unclear what's allowed and what isnt, they did this knowing that it gave them an advantage and they were fine with doing that as long as they didnt get caught. So TS they got caught so now they have to accept the reprecusions. I wont shed a tear or feel any kind of remorse for them. I'm glad they felt the need to delete their characters but feel am annoyed that they can just create another one and buy a boost and be up to speed in a week.

  8. The answer to all this is rather simple. The "World First Race" community just needs to cease to exist, or at least their acknowledgment from SE and the community. Just treat this like every other content in the game, nothing more, nothing less.

As many people have previously stated, unless this "world first race" community/content is effectively turned into an Esports event, where EVERY single player, from every single group/FC, is live streaming, with no editing, from a SE sanctioned location where their officials can oversee the entire event, this entire community is cheating/using "play the game for me add-ons". We ALL know this. They do, we do, even the devs do.

Until then, EVERY single player with any title/weapon/reward received from "completing" this content, past and present, that the majority of the player base encounters in game, are just going to look at them and assume they "cheated", or waited long enough to buy it off a mercenary group. So, this whole community is already tainted, and I don't see a way out for them. Something has to happen before this game turns into that toxic cesspool, add-on infested game we all know as WoW. If that hasn't happened already…

Also, at this point, being a "stock" ffxiv player, I wouldn't mind if they implemented an anti-cheat. Which I think is eventually going to be the inevitable.

  9. Can someone explain to me why this is an issue? I understand it’s against the rules. I’m trying to understand why.

Personally, If people cheating a boss, I don’t mind. I think I have an issue if it was PVP, or there’s an award for first clear.

I don’t like the difficulty in the game, it’s cool if you have a dedicated group, but nowadays, it’s hard to find that dedicated group. It’s even more difficult on PF.

  10. They are racing for world first.
If you're not streaming from day 1, you're doing something.
None of the racers are playing on playstation.
To get a stream up is not hard.
No you don't have to entertain viewers.
There are streamers that never said a word.

For the rest that is just trying to get a clear.

    No one cares.

  11. deleting your character('s) seems wholly unneccesary. Playing a game for 10 years, it definitely becomes a big part of your life. If they just wanted to avoid harrasment, they could have just changed their characters name, appearence and left their FCs and whatnot. They really seem to be done with this game, sadly.

  12. I guess to verify progress in these races, they could make a special game client for the raiders that has some kind of anti cheat that verifies it's integrity for the race.

  13. Yes they cheated. But being harassed to the point of deleting their characters is too extreme. Tbf I rather they keep their character, as a form of remembering the things they did every time they log in using that same character

It's unfortunate we have cheaters in the game just to clear contents. Be it from JP, NA or EU, the punishment should be fair across the board.

  14. Its just unfortunate that they were caught with their pants down with the video leak for this World First Race for ultimate clear . This is a Japan culture they were caught cheating and have brought shame to Japan . Honour is been taken very seriously in JPN . Partly is SE fault as well for not making an official event for ultimate world first clear race like in a WCG competition where teams all have to be at japan to be able to participate. The Dev spend too much time making the ultimate raids but miss out on certain stuffs.

  15. People need to chill. YoshP gave them their punishment. That should be enough. Why can't people leave others be? Sure, it's shitty they cheated. But it's a goddamn video game people. They don't need the internet mob to keep beating them while they're down. NGL this whole ordeal makes JP players look like immature children throwing a tantrum.

  16. It's the Harassment that pisses me off! People make Dumb choices sometimes, They will have to live with the consequences, But I don't and will never understand the frame of mind some people have to Choose to throw insults and harass someone for something they did in a game.

  17. I never use mod, because I don’t understand how to use it, and seeing people using this for clear is so weird… yeah it’s cool to be the first team that cleared but, it’s not really legal by the dev team to use it… you are already risking everything, like time, money and energy, and for what? A moment of fame? but yeah, I think if the JP players that using mod for clears are being harrassed like this (really, it’s only because WE know now is the reason why this is happening), those other players in other servers should also be reprimended.

  18. I mean they could all just stream their PoVs to each other via discord and only have 1 person stream everyone's PoVs along with theirs. The year is 2023 we have the technology.

  19. Honestly I don't think a "zoom" addon is strong enough to be a winning condition on an ultimate. I'm not justifying them of course, if SE says third-party tools are ToS then you shouldn't use them, especially addons that can give you a competitive advantage. Now as I said, a "zoom" addon isn't a winning condition imho, but addons that show you boss mechanics, optimize your rotations are indeed a win condition, if an addon is telling you which button to press then thats something you can forget about so you can focus on mechanics, and even then they use addons that show you were you should be standing to avoid incoming mechanics. At that point, do you even deserve the praise and recognition you expect considering not only you used forbidden third-party tools but also tools that severely increased your performance on hardcore content?

I think SE should perma these players. On any other context, sure a 7-day ban and removal of titles, gear, achievements, etc would be enough, but we're talking about a World First Race, that for sure it's not an officially-supported WFR, but this controversy is terrible for the game. Everyone could've been talking about the raid and things related directly to the WFR, instead most people are talking about this addon crap drama. Stuff like this not only kinda ruined this community activity, but also widens the gap between the community and SE even more. Imagine Yoshi-P chillin, probably watching the WFR, checking if players are using the same strategies that the design team, whatever, and then realizing your enjoyment of said activity is completely ruined because now you have to work on an statement regarding addons and third-party tools while also having to ask players to please follow the ToS when playing FFXIV for the 50th time already.

Hope SE make an example out of them.

  20. Eis is not a member of Noname while TOP, he is doing TOP with 1A(team leader is Haru who stream on twitch).
He took w1st p8s clear with Noname as healer back to last year. He said on twitter that they took w1st by cheating and not get caught.
I think he knows, cause Noname is get caught now, people will finally get him too(towards logs and shits you cant escape)and jp community will "hang" them, so he decide to delete the charactor and quit.(without tell 1A teammates)
    Poor Haru.

  21. I’m so tired of people saying, “But there is a bigger, underlying issue.” Complain. In. The. Damn. Forums. Then. They are reading them. Whether or not they listen depends on amount of reports and demands. They have been listening. Need proof? Male viera, female hrothgar in 7.0, more viera and hrothgar hairstyles, and the gender lock taken off some gender-specific gear. Stop making excuses. It is their house, so they make the rules. Don’t like them, too bad. Console players don’t have mods and addons and can clear fine. I highly doubt they were harassed. People are just memeing and some people can’t take a joke. Until I see evidence, I’m not buying it. Do shameful stuff, get shamed. It’s called consequences.

  22. On one hand no one deserves to be harassed but on the other hand I truly don't feel bad for them getting shit when they tried to claim world's first while cheating

  23. Why is it audacious to invalidate off-stream clears? This person is off their rocker, if you participate in a world first race and it's an event then it must be broadcast, what the hell is the point if we can't watch it? There is, and I am not lying, a billion ways that I can lie to you that I have a clear and that I just don't want to share my PoV. Why would I care if some moron validates me on twitter? This is why it's a WORLD first race, because people have to be watching it. Imagine a world cup with no spectators? Hello?

  24. I'm a console player and i recall when i was in a static, all the other members were on pc they all used 3rd party add-ons. Sometimes several. It was openly discussed. I believe the use of these add ons are completely accepted by players and even encouraged. You would feel pressure if you could use it and choose not to from your other static members because you would be made to feel you are letting them down. I certainly felt that way as I was on a console, and being frequently told to get a PC version of the game.
