  1. With the change to TA and Mug with the debuff now lining up with 2 minutes, do you have an opinion on jobs that have 1 minute bursts being less enjoyable to play? WAR for instance is already slow and sturdy. With this change, you don't have to optimise your gauge and CDs half the time outside of 2 minute burst windows which isn't very good.

  2. Kaiten removal is really random and not needed, sam has more buttons they can focus like shoha 1/2 gurren/senei ogi etc. however it doesn't remove skill ceiling if they remove it. It was bare minimum to use kaiten on your iajutsu if you weren't you weren't average or even below average you were just absolute worthless trash. The skill ceiling is knowing how to spend kenki well in buff winodws, how to keep a loop with downtimes happening, when to filler/when to not filler when to meikyo early etc.

They can just tie to effect to kaiten or something idek

  3. Apparently the "button bloat" on samurai was mis translated from "action bloat" in reference to APM.
It's still a silly change since they could have done the common button bloat changes, and increase the kenki cost on shinten while reducing the damage bonus on kaiten and thus retain guaranteed crits (crits weren't as much of a problem as it was for Dancer with their step finishers tho lol, also goodbye devilment).
You get the best of both worlds, reducing REAL button bloat, and some APM which was somehow a problem?

All these changes this patch to Samurai are JUST taking things away, we no longer have a point for pooling resources in the 1 minute window since trick attack is gone as a raid wide…
Kaiten was the only thing making Kenki more interesting than a pointless Soul Gauge UI Element like holy shit.
They can just delete the kenki element now since if Shinten or Shoha light up, you just press it, you just dump it. It's not like pooling was anywhere as important since the only window we still pool in always gets 50 free kenki.
They could even make Shinten and it's aoe variant into OGCD CD's with charges just like Bloodletter / Rain of Death since the UI element is going to offer nothing but clutter on screen.
It's all so deeply upsetting, and I didn't even TALK ABOUT THE ANIMATION.

  4. I just hope the Walking Dead invulnerability status doesn't get removed outright when you get topped off (since it'll be weasier to heal through) otherwise it can make it inconsistent.
    If it's a 1-hit tankbuster it's a non-issue

However on multiple hits there is a possiblity your attacks + outside heals remove the walking dead debuff while you still need its invuln status. This is where I have a slight problem with the change.
But since they didn't talk too much about it maybe they predicted this outcome.
Least effort they can do besides leech effect is remove the healing requirement but keep the invuln status of Walking Dead – not the shortest invuln CD with some requirements – seems fair enough in my opinion.

  5. Sam change is mostly reducing skill ceiling, and also making it easier to play while focus more on mechanics

Overall welcome change for majority of the casual player
