  1. Ultima Thule is such an amazing final place for the Hydaelyn and Zodiark arc of FFXIV. Also, such a good idea from Soken and Ishikawa to make the music in the beginning as vague and restrained as possible – literally as just background noise, only for it to get clearer and more amazing the more you progress to this zone.

3:11 Definitely did not expect to see Meteion so soon. What happened to Thancred was such a head scratcher at the beginning
25:08 For a brief moment, I feel as if the scions were gaslighting the WoL
37:20 Exactly, it was so soon to just remove him like that, though the concept of his wish being the only thing keeping the scions alive at this place is so cool
51:40 The descriptions of those eggs are equal parts disgusting and depressing
1:09:46 Always sends me chills whenever I hear Heavensward music, and they used it here perfectly. Also as Jesse has stated, this was such a wonderful idea to introduce the aether currents in this zone
1:41:55 These guys look cool. Their void-like faces remind me of Vivi. Their head floating gesture looks strange at first but it does have a certain charm to it
2:15:27 I almost forgot these two had such a history during Shadowbringers, and how heavy was the burden placed by G'raha on Urianger to keep the Exarch's secrets from the others.
2:24:16 Y'shtola's and Urianger's answer to the Ea was definitely one of the best scenes in Endwalker. Such a perfect response from both of them
2:33:46 Jesse can see right through the plot
    2:39:43 🤣

  2. I knew Jesse would be smart enough to see through the tropes. I watched another streamer play through EW and they spent the entirety of Ultima Thule in tears because they genuinely thought all the Scions were dead. But I thought it was pretty clear that there was no way.

For one, do you really think the game would just kill off Thancred, one of the main characters, offscreen without a proper death scene? No way! They always made a big deal out of any side characters dying, so there was absolutely no way one of the main characters would die without a dramatic death scenes, some final words, maybe some flashbacks, the whole deal. Birdgirl even tells you "Oh, he's not dead, he's still around, but he's totally gonna die eventually!"

Then Estinien "dies", and all the other Scions are like "Oh no, Estinien! Anyway, let's move on. It's what he would've wanted." Again, do you really think that's how they'd deal with the actual death of Estinien? Most definitely not. And Y'shtola directly tells you that you can totally summon them back at any time with your Azem powers.
