6/10 for Perfect Alexander? Practically a criminal offense, if I’m honest.

What if Titan is the first phase of Eden Ultimate…. imagine the possibilities
E12S2 is perfection to me, loved every mechanic and the most fun fight to blind prog so far (I can't wait what they'll make of them for FRU). Barbariccia EX has a nice rhythm too. I haven't done all fights but these 2 probably are my favs.
I can't put P10S as a fav because of the bonds, too many of them, too unforgiving for a 2nd fight of a tier (resulting in a boring, refurbished 3rd fight of a tier), but harrowing hell is <kisses chef's fingers> though. I also can't put any Ultimate because I likely will never blind prog any of them, so 50% of the fun is already removed, sadge. But still excited for FRU.
Mine will be – for probably all eternity – E8S. The mechanics are easy to learn but easy to mess up. And the song from phase 2 is beautiful <3
Started in EW yet my favorites still are E4S and TEA, both are just so fucking fun.
See, I know it is a first fight, and relatively easy, even in savage, but the Eden Prime fight. FF8 is my favorite FF ever, and Eden was my favorite summon cause of the sheer awesomeness of it. A close second is Oracle of Barkness as someone below called it, and then close to that, is a two way tie between Ruby and Emerald Weapons. Goopy mommy and angry robo dad are memorable.
just an extreme, but i love warrior of light extreme
I joined in mid-ShB, with Eden's Gate off-content being my first savage tier. I've since done every savage from then on and 4 ultimates, and TEA still stands as my absolute favorite piece of content in the entire game. It's a masterpiece from top to bottom, what I consider to be the peak raiding experience. That aside, my second favorite encounter is E12S, which was so fun and well put together. (Not to mention, "Promises to Keep" still remains my favorite track in all of XIV.) I also have a huge soft spot for O12S as I made many friends and fond memories there. The phase change cutscene from E8S will forever give me goosebumps, the fast-paced action of E4S will always make my heart race, and back in the day nothing was better than clearing E6S, or Memoria Misera EX, (which was such a fun fight whose design deserves more praise than it gets!).
Pandaemonium forever. I was able to clear it the day before the echo patch, and endwalker was the expansion where I started playing.
I don't wanna list them all but there's Hell's Kier EX, Orbonne Monastery, Dun Scaith, most of Alexander, HW/SB minstrel's ballads, T9/12/13, Omega, and beyond
E11S, mostly cause progging it on content was an amazing experience
Can't disagree at all with God Kefka or Titan Maximus. Such amazing fights in savage that stand out. They sit up there with fights like TEA or DSR to me as being just so fun to do.
T7S is still my favorite which probably a fight that no one knows or even like. It's a fight with less scripted and more adjusting which hone your Raider skills to pay attention to everything.
P8s and p12s. First raid series I played on content and was a blast learning and playing through
Hesperos 🙂
The final fight of the Heavensward Alliance raid series is by far the best of all the Alliance raid series, because the whole bloody raid is about reaching Diabolos. The first fight sets the tone: this isn't your average raid, mechanics matter! Then when you finally get to the Life Gate, and you all, collectively, are holding back the darkness, you all feel like goddamn heroes in that moment. A Dun Scaith party finder is an instant sign up for me.
Any fight where the boss constantly says stuff through the encounter, so far (as free trial pleb) Orbonne Monastery final boss, Suzaku, o4s (that doest say anythign but the moving aoe attacks sounds+music is just mwah) and my fav so far Byakko
I LOVE MOK 5:43
I do agree with most of it, but P10S has been a mixed bag for me. I do love harrowing hell in savage as in normal mode equally, it's just what encounters miss those days, but on the other hand, 10S was also a painful finicky hell of playing DDR and resolving boring or tedious pairs and stacks and spreads that have been in literally every encounter this expansion. But I do give a lot of points to P10S for the creativity. FF14 really needs it those days.
A for ultimates, they may have the most awesome mechanics, to me they remain a chore more than anything due to what I consider to be greatly artificially inflated difficulty by making you trudge through 10+ min of fight you are already past just to have the pleasure to prog for 10s on the mechanic you're actually progging and then wipe, only to go back to doing those 10+ min again and again and again. I know that for some people that's what they like, to me, it's not. I just want to prog the mechanic i'm learning, that's what's fun to me, and I deal badly with utter and mindless repetition. But this goes to show that of all the different qualities of facets of encounters, rating them is going to be extremely subjective by the different things people actually expect out of them.
My fav fights have probably been similar anyway: Kefka and Titan, but also Omega (O11S), because what we tend to forget is how exhilarating Pantokrator was, and also how the fight allowed for so many different strats to be used (PLD cover on the rphys bait for Blaster, where to use tank LB3 to cheese which mechanic or what, having specific mechanics like Panto or level checker actually making use of rphys' mobility, etc).
But the one fight that beats all the fights for me is Phantom Train, oddly enough. Just compare the whole story and stages and phases that happen within the same fight. We don't stay glued to the same platform hitting the same boss for all the duration, we get to fight adds, we get to get into ghost cars (pretty cool and unique semi fail state for mechanics btw), we get to run on top of the train, everything is just out of this world in terms of creativity compared to everything else in the game, even Eden Titan. I just don't get why every fight can try to tell whole dynamic saga like Phantom Train does.
Rinon: "I made a 57 minute long talking about [DSR], so go watch it."
Me: "Right, and I watched it. It was an excellent video……… I should finish this one, first, before watching that one again."
I have to put E4S, E12S and TEA as my top three right now, with the caveat I joined in shb.
I have a big soft spot for O3S, I think the animal farm mechanic is delightful. P8S has an amazing second phase but the first phase doesn't do it for me.
Oh and Baldesion Arsenal's my favourite duty to run overall, but I think a big part of that is how communal it is. It's just fun.
Having recently progged it on white mage, I really enjoyed Storms Crown EX, it's a really fun fight. One of the best in Endwalker
Probably related to the fact that it's during the time I started raiding in ff, e4s is still my absolute favorite savage fight. Was challenging enough with a number of different strategies flying about, where you could really shine with knowledge about how each specific mech functions when something goes wrong; the puzzle aspect forced you to keep a cool head even when the tempo of the fight increased with each phase. However, that was eventually surpassed by tea, where it's mostly the fact that I am a sucker for time mechanics (and no, it's not because I started raiding then – I started progging tea much later, shortly after ew release), but it's also a properly challenging encounter with interesting and diverse mechanics and probably the most epic enrage sequence ever.
Sadly i've yet to engage in highend content such as savage raiding or even ultimate raiding but aside from that i guess my favourite fight was p7 simply bc of the music. Seat of sacrifice is also a good one. And if i had to pick one fight from an alliance raid it would definitly be Llymlaen from Thaleia.
Really niche pick here, but the pre-6.3 odin fate was stupidly cool imo. Coolest part is definitely tanking the tank-stack vuln-up auto-attack every three seconds, healers needing to constantly have esuna on hand, to dps managing the gungnir adds he throws under thresholds of health and more even lower so he doesn't kill everyone with his raidwide, so tough but so damn fun.
Randomly finding on of my clips in this video (I'm the dead WHM at 1:55 lol) made me feel old, not gonna lie. The Eden raids still feel so recent to me, yet here I am staring at my old horrible UI and a party list with people who changed their names or aren't even playing the game anymore. I had such a blast back then!
It's hard to pick THE favourite fight in the entire game since there are so many to choose from, but O4s is definitely high up there. It was the first final Savage turn that I progged and cleared on content so I absolutely wear my nostalgia glasses writing this, but there was so much going on to overcome for baby AST me, the phase transition is just AWESOME to this day, it just sucks that the second fight had to loop halfway through.
I'll always consider E4S as the perfect benchmark for a great fight. Other fights are definitely harder with more intricate mechanics and spectacle, sure, but there isn't a single moment during this one where you feel like you're basically just slapping the boss until a huge mechanic comes along. It's consistent without feeling intrusive.
ravana. the theme is amazing both part tbh
