Your character will have more personality in Heavensward and even more in the expansions after. You also get a lot more options to choose your reply and how others will react to it (although it rarely if ever changes any plot outcomes) The character's supressed personality is best seen in the dark knight questline. Worth checking out if you feel like investing time.
You don't use dexterity as a dragoon, you use strength, direct hit, critical hit and determination.
