IS HE PUBLIC ENEMY #1? ★ FFXIV 1st Playthrough EP37

Quazii tries Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) for the first time in 2021 (Episode 37). Is it better than World of Warcraft (WoW)?

  1. Magnai is so much fun, and the steppes are my favorite Stormblood zone. He and Sadu are so made for each other. Also, someday do all the side quests in the zone, Ishikawa is such a good writer.

  2. I love Magnai so much because l know our wol's can kick his butt so easily. He thinks he's hot stuff but we're just putting up with him for the better of Othard. Had an rp event with my fc almost a year ago now and it ended up with me and an fc member who cosplayed Magnai getting married. I was so charming I convinced him I was is Nhaama lol

  3. This brings back memories.

When I did this part, I was an Au Ra female, an FC member pointed out that I had similar horns, eyes, skin tone, hair colour and tail to Magnai and they were like. "Are you his daughter or something?" And ever since then, every time my character and Magnai was on screen together all I saw was a rebellious daugther arguing with her dad. And I loved every moment of it.

  4. The Azim Steppe has a lot of hinted at lore and background. Bits can be found from looking up the official list of tribes in the zone as well as from some side tidbits when talking to some Raen Au ra(note that they didn't have Yugiri go any further past the neutral ground of Reunion into the region, would have likely opened a can of worms). And, of course, one has to wonder at who made those now-crumbling structures found in the region – hints of a more advanced Au Ra society in the past. The Dotharl have a sordid past that links tangentially to Alexander. If you do the Namazu crafting/gathering Beast tribe quests you'll also get some hilarious interactions including a Namazu unknowingly pressing one of Magnai's hot buttons.

  5. You humor Magni because it's Au Ra culture & until after the Naadam he is the leader in the Azim Steppe. You don't have to agree of course but thats the way it is. If I didnt know better I'd think you were American, You'd make a Terrible Diplomat (Which you Are as the WoL!) LOL

  6. It's funny because so many people in your recent video were talking about how much they loved the Azim Steppe as a zone and how awesome it was, and I was trying to remember why I actually hated the zone and didn't remember it very fondly. This video reminded me why, lol, the "Sun Tribe" Xaela were so AWEFUL in every sense, which is why I didn't like the zone lol.

I like the area now for an area, but yeah the association for this quest chain had tainted the memory a little bit.

  7. It's funny when so many people says they dislike Magnai. It seems like writers made good job of it, as this character is very realistic for the concepts and world that he was put in. Also, they are rulling class, we are outsiders, not even Xaela (although my character was Raen, it didn't help). It's their thousands years of culture and traditions, against our "modern eorzea" approach, when we want to reason, using our views, not their beliefs. They do not care about Doma and we want them to fight our battles. So, the question is … who's more arrogant here ? xD
Gosetsu couldn't believe weird beliefs of Dotharl, but for him the "Death and life of samurai" makes perfect logic and sense.

I do love Azim Steppe for that, and references to Mongolian (not african) culture, music and traditions.

Also, I am not sure, but you probably not doing Beast Quests right? There is a tribe in Othard which have really great and unique storyline. Yes yes. 😀

  8. Fun fact; if you arrive here as a Xaela yourself, dialogue will change accordingly. Hien will even remark that your family most likely participated in Bardam's Mettle

  9. lol I think Magnai is funny af, always looking for his Nhaama lol. I love that the scenario team makes it a running joke in the story. There's compilation of short stories at the end of Stormblood you should read for sure, one of them features the people of the Steppe.

  10. Why are you listening to this pompous arrogant Au ra? Its pretty simple if you think in character and not as a player reading text.

Hien needs them to conquer Doma back from the empire. It is best to follow tradition and not hurt the feeling of the people that follows their current leader.

Not listening to them and not respecting their way of doing things, no matter how weird it is, is a very Garlean thing to do.

In a way you're the arrogant one here, in a foreign land!

  11. I've noticed you asked why you're doing anything for Magnai a few times in this video; Hien needs their armies to help fight against the empire to take back Doma. Since they are deeply set in their tribal & ritualistic ways, the only way for Hien to earn their respect is by obeying their customs.

You're there to help Hien at the behest of Lyse who also needs allies to fight the empire to take back Ala Mihgo. Since there is more of a stronger imperial presence in Ala Mihgo, her best bet is to help Doma become powerful enough to a) earn their gratitude and support, and b) have a better chance at taking back her homeland.

Essentially, this entire arc is just about garnering enough support to fight back against the empire. Since Hien/Doma aren't ones to rule through fear and violence, they have to play the Steppe's games to earn their respect (and in turn, their support).

  12. Hi Quazii! If you'd like a little hype about Shadowbringers with no spoilers, check out the audience's reaction to meeting Natsuko Ishikawa at PAX West. Find the one minute clip, it's quite amazing. 🙂
The title of the specific clip I'm thinking of is "PAX West Natsuko Ishikawa finalfantasyxiv FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Top Clip".

  13. Editing seems to cut few of the crucial parts of the story. Especially ones with the voices. An editing pattern that kept going it seems. But, enjoyed the series nonetheless, thank you.
