  1. I keep trying to force myself to like it. 5 min of cutscenes, run and interact with x object. 2 min cutscene, run and interact with object. if you're lucky you get to kill a mob or two every hour. I'm all for a great story which it got, but it's WAY TOO FOCUSED ON STORY. Can't they have FFXIV level story, with WoW style of quest? or not even WoW style, ANY MMO STYLE. I feel like I'm just watching a movie. Currently lvl 88… running around clicking on glowing things on the floor is so boring. Strongly considering unsubbing and just watching all the cutscenes on youtube for a more enjoyable time. Sad part is, reaper plays SO nicely and I love the class. There's just nothing to actually play him on other than the dungeon you unlock every 3 levels once..

  2. Worth is always going to be individually determined. As a take of a person who has played for years, I would recommend it and say yes it is worth it since as it has been said before, this game respects your time. If someone is looking to get into something without needing to dump a massive amount of time at once, this is right up that alley. But at the same time when people come in with a scope of what a game like this is supposed to be that they have been conditioned too, they may be put off. Community is key, interaction is key and getting involved is key. Going in alone makes for a long quest ahead for those that do so. So it will be tough for those that may have a bit of an issue with socializing. But all in all, not a perfect game, not close, but if you want to experience a game that has been taken care of by it's developers for years with a player base that exude the same love for the most part. That's what you'll get, that's what you'll be surrounded by. Again, this is coming from a long time player but one that has seen the excitement and growth of new players in game as well.

  3. I would say, yes it is. Especially if you're willing to not rush things. Because when you do that, you miss out on key things in the story. Maybe even some gameplay things. And that will make your experience less than it could be, which is sad.

I also recommend taking breaks when you caught up or if you feel that you're getting a little burnt out. Always fine to play a different game or do something else for sometime 🙂

  4. As an RPG yes, as a MMO kinda. If you have any desire to be on the same page with the community at large, it's too late. Nostalgia and call backs in game play or story simply won't hit the same for someone under a year of playtime. Conversations on older beloved content will either go over your head or annoy you.

  5. The story, the massive content, the general quality and the community make this a game worth playing. Please note that at the moment (14th January 2022), the game is unavailable for purchase. In my opinion, it’s one of the best games ever! But I’m biased. 😋 Try it and decide for yourself, when possible. Whatever you do, have fun!

  6. I started playing in November and am almost done with Endwalker. But that is after playing for over 300 hours and doing little to no side content and playing one job. Just logging in and doing msq. This game is extremely long but definitely worth it.

  7. From the perspective of someone who has put tens of thousands of hours into multiple MMOs across 20+ years, as long as you aren't wanting heavy levels of PVP or open world army type content then FF14 is the best MMO built to date (and its not even close). There are a few other MMOs that will definitely offer you some particular thing better than FF14 but in terms of offering a complete experience nothing beats it.

  8. I would say yes, over all its a great game, lots of things to do, lots of jobs, a very complete, full body MMO , and well done story. sure, you could nit-pick here and there, but no game is 100% perfect and you will never please everyone, always got ppl wanting to min/max and cry about everything. … fun factor is 10/10 . well worth it much more than any other mmo and i did Mythic progression in WoW, left it for good last year , been playing FFXIV casualy for a long time, move into more savage mode and really enjoy it..
