  1. Once the progression phase is over, it's just a memory game.
Logs make no sense in a game like FFXIV.
That's why I consider a MMO like TERA to be one of the best in terms of gameplay.

  2. Logers dont know how to play a game, this faq is right xD Cuz Progers know xD Ppl like this dude make comunity so similar to Wow and im sick. All ppl play like they fking want, let logers do logs, progers prog whole expansion cuz cant kill a x1E, RP do RP. WHO THE FAK CARE? Play game, dont cry cuz YOU SHITENO dont like people.

Rank1 Cant handle a unfair somethingsomething? Wee weee bigbaldman crying? And why NO DPS check? Cuz FF comunity is BAD in PvE? 3. I can agree with you based on my experience with high end content in ESO, it has dps checks along with really complex dps rotations, which leads to it being undoable in any way other than static raid groups and you obviously don't have a lot of them, leading to having to wait for a certain time once or twice a week to attempt doing the hardest content in the game (I joined 4 of them so I got a bit more than that, to it's still not my pace as I was ready to play whole day every day). It's so stale it made me quit as I wanted to play the game yet I was not able to do it at my pace

  4. I first started in Eden for savages, I started as a healer and did all the tiers as a healer. The DPS checks were dumb, and rarely could find actual good parties that could get passed them in the first week of release.

In P1-P12s I went SAM, no longer do I have to worry about DPS checks, not saying I'm amazing, I'm honestly green/blue at best but progging these fights no longer feels like a chore to beat the DPS check, once I understand the fight fully as a SAM Main I know I'll beat the boss, unlike when I was a healer. Loads of people do not understand the fundamentals to their rotations, I've seen dancers just doing their combo buttons and no weaves, no dance partner etc. Right now you can do the BARE MINIMUM for damage and pretty much still beat Savages, unfortunately there are a lot of people who can't even do the bare minimum for dps.

  5. Damage checks are cool and all but dam… when I joined in HW and maining PLD it was a nightmare because there was DPS checks so I had to quickly learn tanking in Dword oath etc. It was toxic back then. I don't think it's good for the game if people can't play what they want to play to clear content.

  6. Yes, I DO want them to bring dps checks back. There are no fcking dps checks to be seen in this game anymore, at least up to Savage level (I was away from the game for several years so I'm not caught up on Ultimates). It doesn't matter how shitty you are at your class, if you can do the (SHITTY) mechanics, you will clear. That's not fun. This is the trade-off, baldie, they made the machanics absolutely idiotic where if one person makes a mistake, it wipes the whole raid, instead of the dps checks we used to have. I fcking hate this game nowadays. And just because you're number one, doesn't mean you can't be wrong.

  7. I kinda want the Heavensward cataclysm. I want to see if I'm actually decent. ALAS, the more difficult the game becomes, the harder it gets to find people to play with : (. So in the end, maybe we should just revert back to Stb/Shb principles and call it a day ?

  8. There is a massive void in terms of mid-core content.

I want them to more strictly scale iLevel in content like Alliance raids. I want to experience the old alliance raids as they were on release. There is so much good content and mechanics in those old raids that 90% of the player base won’t experience

  9. The difficulty gap between savage/ ultimates/ extremes/ etc. and everything else in the game is just ridiculous. Most of it is incredibly too easy and when you want just a little bit more difficulty its absurdly hard. This is the only mmo I've played that does this. Most games have different difficulties that are like stepping stones to the hardest one. But then again they also make those raids somewhat rewarding to the people who want to play at that difficulty, xiv will never do that

  10. This reminds me a lot of TERA, back when Stormcry gear was the top tier gear.

DPS Checks in Story/Endgame Dungeons were the norm. You would know who knew their rotations and who powerlevelled to 65. It was challenging, yes. But in some cases, it was bullshit.

Remember when RK-9 and Ruinous Manor were borderline unbeatable?

Then things went apeshit insane when level cap was raised to 70. I refuse to talk about this era.

Main Content is okay. I would love to get into High-End Raiding at some point, but the fear of toxicity for me not being able to perform to spec is what is keeping me away from it.

Yes, I still have PTSD from TERA’s community.

  11. After raid leading for years in FF14 before quitting the game in 2020, the one term I learnt and many raid leaders learnt too – "prog parsers" .Those are the worst fuckers ever. Just no clue what it means to put out consistent dmg, whilst maintaing progression. Never understanding the difference between what you need in prog vs farm.

  12. No offense I was a legacy player and back in the day we used to farm Alexander in savage like we we’re killing him like we were killing Jaggy-Earred-Jack in West Ronfaure

  13. I play in arr and hw. I quit in hw after failing to clear a3s. Came back in the walker. Had a blast.

Trust me you not ready for missing a positional and losing the skill effect and breaking your combo.

It wasn't fun back then. You gotta remember raid is having 8 clowns take turns memeing.

  14. I wish the fights were not scripted, similar to souls bosses where reaction and awareness is more important, but that would mean that they would need to change how jobs play and at this point i dont see that happening.. i just want to be a tank that could parry and block by using perfect timing and hold aggro like we used to in the past and not by just pressing a button (tank stance) and never have to worry again, its boring..

  15. This is the most casual MMO ever made and I just started playing again on the Xbox because my friends are playing it and the ARR stuff is watered down even more some mechanics have changed but overall it’s easier and again started playing Friday new character as of yesterday I had a 51 Drg,52Ninja,40 War and assorted other jobs to 20+ and have roughly 10 hours .

  16. Heavensward DPS checks would make people whine so hard, because HW DPS burst checks meant you needed to actively change or hold your rotation/buffs sometimes so you would have it up for when it mattered, but it wouldn't be optimal for overall parse DPS. A3S mechanically (pre-nerf) probably would be doable in PF nowadays, but I guarantee a lot of groups would run into issues with their healers dying because the DPS refused to hold buffs so they could actually DPS the hand when they needed to, because they all wanna be the big parse machine.

  17. Nah hard disagree. I want to fail. That failure will force me to engage with the game mechanics more. It will force me to learn and grow. That’s what makes games fun. It’s ridiculous that at the start of a dungeon or raid boss, I can put my controller down and have the other members of the team carry me. I’m not punished for not playing the game and that is ridiculous. Ff14 isn’t easy. It’s brain dead easy. It’s lobotomized easy. Its not fun. It’s too scripted. Why do you expect players to learn and grow if the game isn’t going to punish them.

I’m only talking about normal content here. Savage and ultimate are just fine.

  18. aka those who say FF14 is too easy are most likely the ones who've played WoW raids and/or hardcore raiders in general. Personally, when I did all the raids several months ago, I died several times in most of them even after watching a guide. Making the raids harder is pretty much asking them to be on the same difficulty level as Ultimates, only shorter. Which makes me think the next Ultimate will have the players struggle the first phase for a whole month. Not that I've done any Ultimates myself because I am absolutely terrified of them. I've only seen others do them.

  19. this dude never shuts up about gordias but when heavensward launched on the chinese server in 2017 a jp group cleared the tier on day 2 at the same ilvl people had back when they said it was "impossible". It wasn't that hard, people were just bad at the game back then because it was relatively new and there were fewer resources. Just look at Thordan, EVERYONE creamed themselves over and over again about how hard this fight was "back in my day" and yet the Unreal version is easier and simpler than every single EX trial this expansion.

  20. I think the savages and ultimates are hard enough. As for the casual content. A difficulty like ivalice raids would be nice. It shouldnt be too hard, has to stay casual after all. Overall i think the game has a good learning curve

  21. I raided DSR with a 9-5 blue collar job. We raided usually 6-7 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. “Midcore group” They STILL didn’t clear. This was on Aether. I had to clear a month after the savage dropped at that time. PEOPLE ON THIS GAME AS A WHOLE SUCK
