  1. I started as Arcanist and into Scholar, but it wasn't fun and healing is very stressful for me. I found rogue/ninja and absolutely fell in love. I apparently like to be sneaky, stab things then run! XD

  2. Theres a lesson my grandfather taught me, dont close a door before youve even opened it. To find the greatest things life has to offer sometimes you have to force yourself to see past your initial thoughts and put all preconceptions aside, if its easy then its not worth having.

  3. As a x wow player I recently came back to shadowlands after not logging in since MoP, I am stuggleing to find my self entertained by it. However I also created a ff14 account at the same time cause I keep hearing people say just stick it out man it gets so much better!. I have a lvl 50 summoner/draggoon and I honestly dread the game i find my self forcing myself to play it… where itleaste with wow the combat feels so much more fluid and smooth.. I am sorry but i shouldnt have to play a game to "stick it out" as the say cause it gets good. If a game has the best story in video game history as you say lol…. then that story should be good enough to keep me entertained even mildly from the very start. I shouldnt have to get to lvl 50 and still be asking myself wtf this is terrible how do people like this?. I am still in ARR btw, but each to their own I guess. Love your content Accolonn!

  4. When I first tried ffxiv, I hated the game. So I quit. Then I tried again about a year later, and I still hated it. It took me 4 tries before it finally hooked me. But almost all the things that made me hate the game back then are still issues to this day. I just found positive aspects that greatly overshadowed the negatives. I love the game so much that I have a huge list of over 100 tiny complaints.

  5. Im actually one of the few who enjoyed the gameplay over the story, so i literally skipped all the cutscenes in ff14 so i can unlock all the dungeons, raids, and trials in the game. Im sure the story is great, but i understand how agonizingly slow it is to read so much dialogue to get into the story. So for those that do not really get into the story they always have the option to skip all cutscenes and start grinding out the levels to get to the current content. You will always have the option to replay the story through new game+ at your leisure.

  6. Well… that and I hate to break to you cultists- people are allowed to hate things you love. I know that is harrrrrd to take and seem impossible and you are in no way being self absorbed on this issue whatsoever.

  7. Just started FF 14 in January and now I started Endwalker. I started as a đŸč. I fell into it easily because there's was tons of references to ff 12, which was my favorite in the series. Never got into Wow, although it was recommend.

  8. FFXIV is a very story heavy game and I'm sure people think that is trash and they hate it and it's boring and that's fine. Not every game is for every person. I think this game in particular is one that you have to approach with a very different mindset than you would any other mmo, where the dungeon and raid and other content like that comes first and story is a very distant second or less. Some people don't like story or some people don't like games of a specific genre focusing on story because they are only in that for one reason, Call of Duty for example. That is perfectly ok. Not making it past the initial first, negative impressions and deciding not to give it another shake, even if those perceptions would be proven false with later experience, is ok too. Different strokes for different folks.

  9. I feelt ARR was medioker at best and it takes a long time to reach the end of it. If i invest 100+ hours to a game i expect it to be fun after amont of hours but it never happaned. I got bored asf when the endless grind of filler quest between ARR and Heavensward drawned the fun out of the game. When i read that the filler quest had more quest than the actually ARR story i uninstalled the game

  10. After months of begging my fiancé to play ffXIV he finally caved in. He decided he wanted to try a black mage or traumatgsaksdj i cant ever say that word; but when he chose that i knew it wasn't a good choice for him as he is a very impatient person, he likes to move around a lot, BUT! i didn't say anything cause it was his choice.. he HATED it (obviously) so as soon as we hit level 10 or 15 cant remember, i made him change to a ninja and it was like a whole new game to him, he loved it! and now he's still playing! so i strongly agree, the class you choose when you start makes all the difference depending on the kind of gameplay you like.

  11. I completed the story through Endwalker and did most of the dungeons and raids (not on the highest difficulty). Idk why but I just don't get the hype. It's an okay game… I gotta say that haven't missed it once since I stopped playing. Maybe it's just the feel of the game. The Endwalker story was not up my alley… Stormblood was the best chunk of the story, I thought. I can't explain it. It just wasn't for me.

  12. What I've been telling my friends is now that the story from 1.0 to 6.0 has concluded, I think once the expansion ends they should start dropping new players into 6.1 as the leveling experience with the option to go back and play the old stories. It's the perfect time to use the new beginning as a true new beginning.

  13. I got to disagree with the opinion I need to give a game a chance before I say I hate it. I watch a great deal of content on the games I play or am looking into playing. Watching how the game is played how the systems interact and how the story/world built is enough for me. I knew I'd like ff 14 when I saw it and hated the first bit I played. As for wow I can see how the game is built and I know I'll hate it. The game is literally built to encourage elitism, force players into all content if they want to play without constant abuse, almost makes alt a requirement. I can go on but that would make this rant way longer. I want to do everything in an MMO but I don't want to be forced to. I want to do tedious incessant grinds but I don't want them a requirement, I want an overarching story that ties the world together, I want to feel like I'm advancing in a game not skipping years of context and being dumped in a mess. Wow fails at all of that and, that is do not need to play it. Sometimes its about more then gameplay. Gameplay may be king but all kings fall without support.

  14. Lol 😂 someone said FF is bad , đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚ yeah I believe them . I can understand not liking FF , maybe some part of the style is not for you , but in any form aspect or design to say the game is bad , that person is most likely lying , played the game only a short while or doesn’t know anything about any kind of gaming let alone video ones

  15. i'll give some advice from my veteran FF player experience,

FFXIV is a good starter online game its good during the "honeymoon phase" for the first 4 years after that you are going to start to realize the truth, that its not a great ultimate mmo game its an OK online rpg game, endgame is pretty much an after thought especially when it relates to battle content (they've repeated the same formula for all these years an show no sign of stoping anytime soon, despite player feedback to stop and mix it up more) and instead focus heavily on story content, quality of life, and single player based content.
if you want an MMO experience you are going to be disappointed and are playing a FF game incorrectly.
and as many have said and will continue to say hell even the game's producer has said an the father of all final fantasy has said that FFXIV is akin to a virtual "theme park" meaning you stay for the rides but than get tired an go home and not return til the next season or next year in some cases.
the game is not a grind your life away simulator like most mmos nor is heavily pvp oriented, nor is it gacha like in design.
FFXIV is just an online version of a normal Final Fantasy title.

  16. I feel a lot of people take the talking points of others and use that as an attack. Personally I love ARR. It's all about World Building which I love. I have played through it multiple times. So I get annoyed when I see people complaining about it as if it's one of the worst games ever. If it was than the game wouldn't have survived until Heavensward.
Good stories start out slow to build the world, the issue is that some people just want to get to end game. The core content of FFXIV is the story. The endgame is side content for the dedicated fans. You aren't meant to play the game forever. Hating ARR is like picking up the first Lord of the Rings book and complaining that they aren't in the biggest war in the first chapter

  17. I feel like these people should take their own advice half the time. You don't like it? Neat then why are constantly feeling the drive to say you don't like it to people that do? I'm not saying don't critique the game or anything but your time is better spent engaging with stuff you like the arguing with someone who yums your yuck so to speak.
