Thanks to all those who helped me out in the making of the video! I this one we’re going to take a look at common abilities that you can play around. Some of them are crucial to remember and easy to mistake for enemy abilities. What other things do you wish your party members would know about your job?

This is a great video! As a little heads up; AST actually has 2 "bubbles", the earthly star bubble mentioned in the video, which we pop for heals to the party and damage to enemies, and then a second shield type bubble! When you see an Astrologian floating with arms outstretched try and stay in the bubble they produce, it reduces damage by 10% and grants Regen to everybody in it!
man your one of the few content creator that are this type of person: you just want to listen to them. hope you will be succes and i am looking forward for more videos 🙂 verry usefull videos btw
Ninja ground AoE got buffed – but because all tanks in FFXIV are idiots, I quit the Ninja classes because I lose DPS now due to their ignorance. SE needs to make the AoE an AoE that follows the Ninja to fix this. Tanks in this game are SO bad
Thank you on behalf of Jobs with Party Buffs, all BLM players, Grave Mains, Healers, Especially Ninjas with their forever ignored Doton. This is the video this community needs… A lot.
I will now go and internally scream when Tanks in PF groups run around the boss and kill positionals for the melee players
Have you done something to explain the red triangle 'stack'-ish markers? That's the one people need to know the most. T_T
Damn, I always ran away from the red tether because I thought it was a boss mechanic, I must have pissed off so many dragoons 💀
One Important healing skill is Excogitation. It places a buff on party member and triggers a healing when it runs out or the party member falls below 50%. SCH can also guaranteed crit this ability which is pretty strong. If you are a healer, and your co-healer put an Excog on the tank, you can safely stop healing that tank until the Excog pops. Excog can be really powerful, especially as a crit, and you would just be wasting healing resources on a tank that would get healed anyway.
Did I miss the Dancer buffs & AE heals?
As a black mage, I feel loved, finally.
This should be required viewing for all players at level 20.
You don’t have to stand in the small earthly star affect. It has a massive radius AOE heal when it explodes.
Mch: eat glue
Sage should use Krasis on themselves it buffs several other abilities.
black mages had Apocatastasis for shiedling a party member against magic damage, and Mana Shift that gives a party member mp detracting them from yours, i rcieved sooooo many comm with mana shift you have no idea…
Dancer, Improvisation now gives healing over time by just passing through the circle. So do it.
your an MVP! thanks for this guide.
Dunno what it is, it looks spooky so I stay away from anything that looks weird on the ground in dungeons.
Dragon Sight does not actually break upon leaving! The skill stays active on both you and the DRG, but you lose the 5% until you get within range of the DRG again!
Pretty sure most of your videos should be recommended to every new player when they sign up for FFXIV.
But the most important thing is:
Dont use freaking doton on single target ffs.
Its wrong, just wrong use raiton!
Shout out to Zed Leplin for having a fantastic name. 🤣
Okay I kept moving away from that weird swirly golden metallic gas circle. Now I know it won't suffocate and kill me.
I mean, I know you said you wouldn't include all the raid buffs, but how do you just leave out Trick Attack entirely 🤔
Ah good old doton, tanks in ew needed this vid!
I knew all of this and yet I enjoyed relearning it anyway. Also as a BLM, thank you XD.
Earthly star isn't actually Astros bubble. Earthly star is the Astro equivilant of Assize and Energy Drain. Collective Unconscious is their actual bubble.
Do we need to turn on other players visual effects to see a lot of these?
Additional debuff but not really necessary is "Feint" for melee DPS like me. It increases physical damage output by 10% for 10s.
If you see a MCH using flamethrower make sure to pull the adds away from them so they have to use a different ability. Flamethrower is so bad it's the only way to help these poor confused fools.
Do all of these abilities appear on screen when you have battle effect off? I know roton and salted earth is visible, but how about flame thrower?
There’s one point that I’m hoping people can take note too. But wasn’t too sure how many people know this. I think there’s some coding problems with sage and scholar’s shield. After I use protraction (10% increased healing) + recitation (guarantee crit) + adlo deployment , sage’s normal eukrasion prognosis can overwrite scholars shield. I had a lot of sages overwriting my shield before which is really sad because I have to heal more after the raid wide damage and it’s a waste of resources. Couldn’t believed my eyes so I tried it out of battle with my lvl 90 sch and my partners lvl 70 sage and it does overwrite. So I think as a respect to all scholars out there. Sage players could try to see what their sch are doing when there’s a very big aoe coming up.
such a helpful video. This channel deserves so many upvotes/views/accolades
Breaking the blackest night is not a dps increase, drks can use that same amount of mana to just cast flood or edge of shadow. Using TBN actually post a risk of losing dps. Walking dead only needs the drk to be healed 100% amount of their hp bar, aka even if they are not topped off because of say auto attacks from bosses, if they had healed 100% hp of their hp bar the debuff will be gone
One time I used Dragon sight on this Reaper and he started to run away from the party 🙂
I use Battle Litany often, just annoying whenever people don't stand inside the yalm field
Overall… Don't make your party sad!
As a ninja, thanks for the PSA. The amount of tanks who drag mobs out of my Doton is…sad.
I turned off the effect of others and only self effects remained. Probably this is the reason we might have ignored party damage abilities.
I only knew what the white mage bubble skill did but I've understood most things that look anything like that means stand near unless it hurt.
