Lost ark just seems to be super lacking in what makes a great mmo.
And the fact that you need actual $$$ to progress.
And just seems to grindy
Personally, I'd just play Lost Ark casually since I've invested so much into FF14. Not a fan of the grindy and pay-to-win aspect in any game, experienced that already with Maplestory lol.

Lost Ark gameplay is great, but its just another game that doesn't respect your time.
Man… I've been playing FF14 since ARR released, I love it a lot I really do but right now I'm bored. I got BIS, I'm capped on literally everything else, so I rather play Lost Ark for now (130+hours currently in LA)😏👌🏽. NO REGRETS.
Guild Wars 2 has finally clicked me me after 6 years of trying it every time I got new hardware. I'll play it more frequently when I go on my next hiatus from FFXIV.
I also want to play Elden Ring too since I'm a souls fan; but I'm also trying to finish Nier Replicant, SMT V, and maybe Tales of Arise (gameplay is fun, but the story and characters are annoying). Also I'm a college student with a job, so I can't spend as much time gaming as I'd love to.
I recently took a break from 14. I had finally gotten my wife to play with me and we hardcored ART to ShB. It was rough man! But after we went through EW, I had to stop. I actually ‘tried’ lost ark. Yeah…not for me. I’m back of 14 now lol.
fresh t3 player here and there is nothing to do at endgame, i can only do 2 chaos dungeons and 1 guardian raid per day. t3 abyss dungeons needs a shit ton of ilvl so i cant even try the first one.

Yeah, I was there playing Maplestory, LaTale, Dragonica, Dragon Nest, and Vindictus. Many of them have good aspects that made them enjoyable, but they are very grindy and/or require a lot of money to be able to confidently do end game content without using most of your free time.
There is no way that I would play two MMOs at this point. I just started 14 in November, and I'm good now. The rest of my free time can be for non-MMOs and non-gaming activities.
Lost Ark was really fun for the first two weeks, but I'm not a fan of the endgame loop and of the busy work, including several pieces of side content that are more or less mandatory but aren't interesting to me. I also don't like the many timed events in the game that I need to schedule around. There is some of all of that in FF14 as well but to a much lesser extent. I can play FF14 in a lazy way and still progress and be effective at endgame, the same is not true for Lost Ark to the same extent. So while it absolutely has its appeals, it just isn't for me.
I loved Dragon Nest and Vindictus back when I was a freshman in high school. I never spent money on Vindictus; but I remember spending my allowance on Dragon Nest for extra storage space and maybe an outfit.
On a side note, I can no longer enjoy F2P games as Mobius Final Fantasy ruined them for me.
I believe I started playing it before I started college and was making decent money at work so I spent maybe around $200 (because I wanted, not because I felt pressured by the game at the time) over the course of a year and a half before they announced they'd be changing their business model for the worst come fall 2nd (really screwed over new players while also making things worse for existing players like me with the abilities and job card gatcha system).
I don't have thousands to spend on virtual crap In lost ark or 12 hours to grind daily

Everyone falls for the flashy gameplay and shiny graphics until they hit that hard grind wall and they have to choose between having a life and paying to win or having a bank account and grinding your life away.
ngl this is kinda copium, most FFXIV players are hyprocrites when it comes to Lost Ark, sure the game is P2W but as F2P player I've been able to do everything a T3 player can. Isn't retainers, story skips, level skips all P2W? The whole "I got no time to play" is a bs excuse because you could play any game as much or as little as you want. idk I see too many FF players completely rag the game with 0 knowledge on it. poor take.
