Corsair was my main job in 11, i would LOVE to see it again, but Chemist is the job i WANT to see in ff14
I want to play a corsair.
I wouldn’t probably play this class… but wow what an amazing design. I wish this would happen just because you did such an amazing job.
i love this idea, but i'd love to see your thoughts on, say, corsair as a tank or chemist as a healer!!
for chemist, i have an idea that ot'd play as essentially a healer version of ninja; mix would work like mudras, and you'd get different effects out of each combination! i feel like it'd be the perfect hybrid healer, sitting right in the center of the scale. i suggest pure center only because i miss astro's sects lol
Yoshi P : No, we already got puppet master at home.
Community : But we don't want to play with Machinist !!!!!! 🙁
Hey Happy,
I never played Puppet master in FFXI, So when i see the Puppets, i had an idea.
How about instead of a puppet master job, let it be more like the chocobo's everyone has a puppet, that can be taken into dungeons etc. You can level them up in your way like a chocobo. the only commands that you could give is help attack, help defend or help support so your not overwhelmed.
Basically puppets would be a pokemon that helps support us. such as an all tank party, could have a healing puppet army.
Haven't planned out skills or nothing yet, but ever since Heroes Gauntlet final boss, I wanna see a berserker class!
that wont work sound likea copycat of smn and mch
to make it work pup would have to attack same time as player as for abilities that's a long catch or just let them go allout
PUP looks cool, never played FF11 but liked the concept an aesthetic of it a lot.
We'd prolly get a magic as well as a phys ranged next expansion an to go with the P worded jobs ive been down for Pictomancer. Aesthetically maybe a mix with chemist since SGE sorta has that vibe, an it fits perfectly in my head for it to originate in Thavnair with the emphasis on alchemy an color there. Yeet the potions for OGCD's, paint a monster for abilities or sumn.
We're down a dot mage rn- idea for gameplay more around shorter OGCD powerful dots that run out and change phases like earthly star and a proc skill that changes effects depending on which phase the dot is. From aoe that spreads the dot to single target big damage.
Maybe at higher levels an ending ability that refreshes the dot for a third phase at higher potency with an added debuff for burst but baseline that's the proposed idea. Dot gameplay fantasy of people who wanna get every tick of damage in at higher levels, as well as a job gauge that makes it a bit easier to track which phase its in.
I've really wanted a mystic knight for so long. How would it play? No idea.
Beastmaster, on the other hand, I've for a long time been thinking about. I have this idea that the island sanctuary could be the hotbed for a lot of cool updates, like personal housing etc. What I would love is for beast master to either be a limited job, or better yet, be a normal job with limited job open world content.
You collect beasts, and then can take those beasts back to your stable In the island sanctuary. And the beasts roam around in environmentally suitable locations. Like, your ice beasts can chill up in the mountains, and your swamp creatures in the swamp (unless the island is just one biome, in which whatever they can just go wherever). So you would have the limited job fun of finding beasts in the open world, but then they can maybe limit the job in dungeons/raids with the choice of three pets, or make all the pets do the exact same thing in raids.
I don't really care if it's a limited job. Blue Mage has proven it can work, you can get A LOT of content out of BLU. But would I like it to be a job you can "main"? Yes.
100% agree!
They wont release puppetmaster hell they wont even balance blue mage to make it a real job with each expansion we get less content
I love puppetmaster so much. I hope we get it someday. Loved it in FFXI.
Maybe the weapon could be the full puppet? With most just having a similar or recolored body.
I would definitely play this job
Puppets would be ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️ 😍 💖
i would love a geomancer as a special job. not the 14 established geomancer but a geomancer based on the mainline series where the terrain you stand on determines your attacks. it probably couldnt be balanced as a regular job but they could probly pull it off as a special job
This was fun. Would be interesting if MrHappy gets called up by Squenix for some dev collab X"3c …I still liek ht eide aof a DPS version of WHM in the Geomancer. We don't have enough casters and Rangedphysical and too many melee.
I played FF11 from Day until right before this expac hit. (switched to WoW, but only playing FF14 now!)
something with two handed hammer. that's all i want
Obligatory "LOLPUP".
PUP Is a job I would love to see in XIV. We already have a couple of types of mammets that they could base frames on (Viking, Magus, Scholar, Healer) and add more.
The thing with limited jobs is I understand they the dev team wants to stay true to the nature (BLUs needing to collect spells, PUPs collecting frames) but what the limited job system lacks is that the players miss out on the ascetic and feel of the job full time. I wish BLU and any future limited jobs had some baseline play ability with all of the other jobs but that could be a balancing nightmare.
I would see them either as melee or ranged DPS, and the auto would act as a pet and either have 1-2 buffs / attacks based on which frame. It would be a little underwhelming just in that respect but with SMN/SCH the dev team is having a time finding out where pets jobs fit in. I understand why they went the way of SMN / SCH but it still feels weird for carby just to sit there and bob its head until you need it for a buff or to summon the other summons. SCH the fairy makes a bit more sense to be a heal turret with no attacks.
Curious to see if we ever get anything like PUP. I loved PUP and I am glad they finally got some love in XI that made them so much more viable.
I think you have some great ideas. I would be curious to see if they treat summoning an auto like a BRD song combined with how DRK shadow works where it has a long uptime, eventually you can overlap a bit better, and during the frames "time" up, you can do a couple of maneuvers. Maybe based some of the frames on the umbral and /astral elements. Maybe you can pick 1-2 abilities out of there set depending on what you need. Valoredge is melee and has a AOE defense buff and melee weaponskills, I like that Sharpshot is about ranged damage and exposes weak points (crit or DH buff), and the Stormwaker can do either a strong nuke, a heal or an AOE debuff. Good stuff!
Great ideas
They should do a contest for players to suggest jobs, kinda similar to what they do for armor/weapon design contests.
Runefencer Magic evasión tank. Geomancer nuke magic dps I want necromancer minions range dps.
Green Mage, to be an actual healer, so it's icon will match. I want them to rework Blue Mage to be a tank; Time Mage would be fantastic as well, and Orator would be something very interesting.
Good lord I hate FFXI. I used to love it. But I grew to hate it very quickly. I remember sitting for 2 weeks trying to find a group to level but at the time, the leveling mobs at the time casted reflects so guess who got overlooked. I deleted my chapter and went to wow
Puppetmaster is good and i want to see a Magitekknight
I'm thinking the two new jobs for the next expansion will be a dex melee so that there's more than 1 "scouting" job and I think it'll use nunchucks, and a caster dps that could use whips like Rydia and Quistis
rude lobo is my puppet! gimme back!
