I believe the time Asmondgold will start playing ffxiv is when he ran out of content, it’s like his last resort. It is because he KNOWS once he starts playing again, there is gonna be another boom in views.

I main FFXIV, but I tried out GW2 a few months back. I didn't get super far, but I discovered that the community has been (so far) lovely. I was trying to get to a lookout point for viewpoint thing, and I couldn't figure out how to get up, so a veteran player passing by carried me up on his turtle mount! Very nice and helpful and gave me tons of tips and advice! So, if I find time, I hope to return to GW2. 🙂

i play mmo to run field/world boss with strangers and raid dungeons with friends but one day, one of them doesnt log in and suddenly everyone gone
BDO is a dog shit afk simulator, all everyone does is just afk farmville shit, there's no content, no dungeons, nothing. There's no way to fix it. Exploration is not rewarded.

Sometimes I want to login to BDO and see how things are going. I'm mostly okay with the hidden sub fee of basically needing to buy a Value Pack but it was expensive for the small amount of content at the time. There are raids now? Might need to check those out… Besides BDO, FFXIV and Eve are really the only MMOs I can tolerate.

Ff14 sucks. Tried to like the game. Was just too boring. Game was auto pilot for most part and combat was pretty much auto win

Overwatch 2 is pure garbage on every level conceivable. Objectively worse then overwatch 1 in every way except possibly graphics. But I guess when Blizzard fans are willing to call removal of a box price game to be replaced with a monetized live service half of a game "pretty good" then they are getting what they want and deserve. Honestly expected of a bunch of gamers that can rationalize still throwing support behind a company full of rapists.
Cannot wait for Zach to come back and continue the story in ffxiv.
Asmon picking out the "best cutscenes" in ff14 but he hasn't even made it past stormblood😅 I'm glad he already has favourites but let's reserve judgement for the endgame
I hope someday Zack returns to FFXIV. He was just entering the worst part of Stormblood (all of the Ruby Sea sucks balls), but from about Kugane Castle onward it just gets better and better all the way through Endwalker. And there's so much "endgame" content I'd love to see him do with the FAMILY.

3:15 Because you are mainly a WOW player, when you stop it you know the game will always be there, its different for other peoples that leave smaller mmo that they invested a lot of time in knowing its dying.
And when you stop smaller games you know that your main game is still there

FF14 Endwalker was my goty in 2021 , never saw that coming
FFXIV is the last good thing Square Enix did, they just released 7 full priced games in the last 40 days recently, yeah SEVEN games, all average.
My journey through FFXIV from ARR to Endwalker was a goddamned magical experience. Without a doubt my most joyful and memorable experience as a gamer. 35+ years of memories and adventures in a franchise all coming together. The story is hands down some of the absolute best storytelling I have EVER experienced. The community is super friendly. The developers actually play their game AND give a shit about their playerbase. I'm not an emotional guy by any stretch of the imagination but this game reduced me to tears on several occasions. You care about the world, the characters, the heroes and villains, the music, the community . . . ALL of it is solid 10/10 all around. If you're a long time Final Fantasy fan like me than all of that explodes exponentially. I am genuinely sad that there are tons and tons of people who won't get to have the experience that I have had playing this game. Cheers and love to all who know exactly what I am describing.

In another vein I’m finding it harder and harder to go back to games that aren’t FFXIV
I began playing in 2019 off of a wicked burnout from warframe at the suggestion of a friend
Got to 35 on the free trial (back when that’s as far as it went) and bought the game in a heartbeat
Never looked back, never doubted my choice for a second
Even welcomed my sister and my dad into the game to play through it all together, recently did my first ultimate with her to boot
I'mma be real honest. His taste in games was kinda shit to start with.
I love FF.
But like Vindictus, Maplestory 2, Black Desert? Bro. Pick up the Witcher. KCD. WoW even. There are games that exist that aren't bad.

FfXIV had the opposite effect for me, after playing it I absolutely hate mmos and will never play another again.

I have been playing FFXIV for 8 years, I have seen the good parts of the community and the scummy parts of the community, I have RP'ed and Savage raided I have fought on the markets and maxed the beast tribes. At the end of the day I enjoy helping new players start thier journey and helping them navigate the world that is Eorzea. I still get the excited butterflies in my stomach every time a live letter hits and I get to see the game change even a little. It's a wonderful game with a loving dev team and I hope it is around for many more years.
Ff14 helps me with my severe major depression
Not all of WoW's transmog system is better than FFXIV's glamour system. The glamour system is better in some ways like how you can use glamour prisms (a separate currency just for glamour) literally anywhere, anytime. In WoW, you have to wait until you get back to town and find a transmog vendor to touch up your look. And if you are a new player without the gold currency stocked up to pay for an entire 1 gold per transmog, then you are gated from using it until much later. Even if you can afford the transmog, because it uses gold as the currency, you'll always be thinking of there is some other better use for your gold. Sure, you could sell glamour prisms in FFXIV for gil, but by the time you realize that as a new player, you're already drowning in gil anyway. So it's more new player friendly.
my hype about gaming and especially MMO's was ressurected when i stopped playing ff14 after the botched EW release.
More bugs in 1 month of OW2 than all 4 years of OW1 combined. 1>2 dead IP rip 2k hours
Imagine finding a game that rekindles your dying passion for gaming. Then right after that, you start a YT channel to try and start a career/hobby and one of the biggest creators on the internet watches your video and heaps praise on it. Life changing times for this mans.
