  1. I did take a bit of a break on FF14 so I can play Monster Hunter Rise and Vise Versa.

I know some in my MH group actually played FF14 since ARR while playing other games and now I tell them "Why didn't you all tell me to quit WoW and play FF14 8 years ago?"

  2. Took a short break after finishing Endwalker. Currently back for the Moogle Tomestone event then will be back on break again, knowing that whenever I do feel like coming back in full it'll be like I never left, except for some re-adjusting to some class changes but I'll be readyto play like I usually do.

  3. Went to on work travel for one month. Came back and was happy I didn't feel behind in FFXIV outside of missing some events. Definitely different than the feeling of falling behind in WOW

  4. Like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Just today: When I was watching the April/May patch preview for Lost Ark, on the new class showcase, I was hearing the Syrcus Tower battle music instead of that game's music…

  5. I'm in a place where tourist come from all over the world to see stuff I can see just across the street of my office. They felt the magic scenery because they don't see it everyday. I'm just looking at the family mart beside it.

Thing is to leave on a high note.. You see wow player who left wow for years still bching about it years later. thats how it will be if you quit because you're so fed up with it.

  6. I mean, that's what's good with Yoshi-P's design principle– they want you to take a break. They know that burnout is real.

I think, even with FFXIV, it's unhealthy to no-life a game.

  7. Not even just a "break" fr. But like not doing your dailies for a week, not doing your raids for a week, not levelling up a job and maybe just logging in and looking at the market board or changing a glam and logging back in a few days later…sometimes that's all you need and I love that FFXIV lets us do that

  8. It's like going out to a bar with friends and enjoying the night or visiting for a weekend once and awhile vs literally living with them constantly. Things stop being special. In worst case you start to get on eachother's nerves, see what's bad in each of eachother no matter how small. Then you just get entirely miserable, and even if you split up visiting them again is just…not fun anymore.

I need to get back in myself. I took a decently long break, a good…two or three months? I overdid it and plowed through stormblood and I'm having the "I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready" jitters.

  10. It's brilliant that the breaks from the game are naturally built in by Yoshi-P. The longest break I took from XIV was a couple of months, and when I came back, I was raring to go and enjoy the game again.

  11. 2:35 Sounds like most Singaporeans whom have never left the country that complains about the country and government, stuck in their small bubble, not realizing how good they already have here.

  12. Donโ€™t feel bad. A lot of us have taken a break from the game. But then again itโ€™s how square enix designed this game. Itโ€™s also better for us because it breaks up the burn out. I myself have been enjoying elden ring. Every time I hear FF14 beginning music it takes me back and canโ€™t wait to get back into a new story and things to do.

  13. Unfortunately the only ones who aren't allowed breaks are those of us who run an FC, as an FC leader I'm expected to be online everyday, since players will leave an inactive FC.

  14. I mean, not to defend the WoW community cuz the majority are a$$holes no doubt xD
But i think why people were upset with you quitting is perhaps because they relied on your content since you made guides and M+ routes, Weak Auras etc.
No reason to go after a person and insult them or whatever obviously but if you had the same position in FF raiding that you had in WoW raiding/m+ probably you would have gotten some of the same shitty ppl being mad. Just how the internet works sadly ๐Ÿ™

  15. Just the sheer confidence The Devs have of saying "It's alright to take a break from the game." and not to mention that ALL content is still relevant to this day is such a perfect storm for a play-at-your-own-pace deal. Absolutely ahead of its time what with how people feel about MMOs now (at least more vocally).

  16. When I played WoW, every day I was away I felt like I was falling behind. Like, "great, I'm a week behind on my rep grind. Looks like I won't get flying until next month." That's just the FOMO design principle of WoW.

In FFXIV, I never feel like I'm behind. I'll never forget the feeling of logging back in and being excited to be back, as opposed to logging back in because I needed to do my rep dailies. Half the time I don't even have a goal when I login, I just go, "Alright, back in Eorzea–what do I want to do today?" It's very freeing.๐Ÿ˜

  17. Thank you for sharing your story. As for me, I was really enjoying playing other JRPG, such as Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus while I'm on break. Elden ring and Lost Ark, sadly, is not my cup of tea.

  18. The palette cleanse is the best to describe it. Stop playing, play something else and come back to appreciate the game even more. Better than being forced to stay and come to resent the game.

  19. I'm pretty sure a lot of us took a couple of weeks/months long break recently, it's amazing that the game lets you do that, has no system that makes you feel you NEED TO play it, it's just a game you WANT TO play when there is new content <3 It always felt good coming back so far, be it a few month break, or a 2 year one (yeah, I had that ^^;;)
