Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix.   7. Goodness me, is how poor persons choose to play with us, the true healing arian.
    If one is so inclined to actually have to taget someone (how quaint), the F1 to F8 keys works too to select someone in the party (you, the pleabian, are F1).

  8. I mean, holy is almost all whm is, you have a ton of instant cast heals, so no need to cast one while those are there to be used! (do cast one when everything is on cooldown tho, should you need it)

  10. My WHM rotation is Dia everything you can until tank is about 75% HP on your last Dia, weave in a Swiftcast Holy > Assize > Benison on tank > Medica 2 ( Mobs get stunned for 4 seconds so > Holy > Holy > Regen > Lucid. You’ll still have benediction and even solace > Tetra.

  13. Y'know, he isn't wrong on the doing damage part, the Green DPS, I do it all the time on AST, also, as AST, I have to use the F1-F4 keys in Light Parties. Like, I will party click in Full parties, but F1-F4 are essential for me to heal myself, one or two tanks depending on if Alliance Raid or not, and be able to Rez co-healer, and possibly a DPS if Alliance Raid. Why must I be able to do this? Simple, Buffs take a moment to register and I must check and eventually temporarily memorize who is in the party and their role to decide who the buff goes to. Does it go to me because I'm the only ranged and it's only giving me The Bole, The Ewer and The Spire no matter what I do? Do I give a buff to DPS person? Do I upgrade a drawn card to Lord or Lady? Lots of Snap decisions. Oh! And also the "When do I give everyone the damage buff? Where is that DPS window for the party majority?" That one is trial and error, but, generally, I get a card queued up, a Draw at the ready and have sleeve cast, if I can, ready so I add 4 full party buffs at the start of dungeons and Alliance Raids, obviously in Raid and Trials I have to find the Window, and that's not exactly the easiest thing to do, especially when going harder and harder, but hey, did Ruby Extreme when it first came out on AST and was literally grinding it out after a couple of attempts. So, while AST is extremely busy, snap decisions and you really can't afford to not have a HoT on the party, or Mass Shield, you kinda need to take as much of the party list off clicking as you can as otherwise you then have to click on them every single time you want to heal them. And honestly, I can afford to move F1 to ally 1, and extend my range of heals further, so I cover 5 people as targeting any non-ally with healing, will cause my to heal or buff myself, which I basically never buff myself unless I redrew 3 times and kept getting overlaps and have basically no one to give 3 ranged cards to. Oh, and yeah, that's just card mechanics, I also have friendly floor bomb of healing and damage, Horoscope, and I mean, they're healing and damage options, but between ALL of that extra stuff, I still find time to DPS, all thanks to F1-F4.

  16. Controller; so I can just press up and down on the d-pad faster than I can reach for the mouse I have for other non-battle uses.

    Also macros for targeting dead party members when i need to. Though that's something I just do for my swiftcast combo if my co-healer is dead.

  18. I play on controller. the way i target is by simply pressing up and down. Top is tank so it is straightforward- then keep click'in down once per line on the list until i get the wounded unit. you develop a sort of muscle memory- permitting you to glare at list and instantly know the amount of speedy down clickin you need, to attend to X person. Furious speed. Healing/raising a fellow alliance unit is a tad more complicated in this case for me, as i need the time to get to that person while leaving my party on my co-healer (hopefully) capable hands for that hot minute..

  21. How I target party members varies. Usually in 4-man dungeons, I'll use the F keys, and in 8-man fights I'll click the party list for everyone but the tanks. And the 3rd option I sometimes use, if I can see that a player is standing in a bad aoe and is about to take damage, instead of trying to find their name in the list or remember which F key they are, I'll just click the character directly… easy to do that when I'm already looking directly at them anyway.

  22. When you have 2 WHM healers and youre the MT sweating
    Both keep spamming Glare while you slowly melt and then die. Yup
    Also when you're the not WHM healer with a WHM healer and you're doing literally all the healing cause the WHM can't be bothered but gets all the comms at the end still.
    And I am an F key user for targeting party members, I use a 15 button mouse tho so my left hand only does movement so its easy for me to make use of F targeting

  24. I actually use mouseover heals. Normally mouseover healing needs macros, but with XIVLauncher, there is an add-on that makes it possible without macros, too.

  25. KBM person. Clicking the party members in the list. Also the list is off-centre but not too close to the edge of the screen – got used to other games where my peripheral vision seems to work better on sensing low HP party members lol

  30. God when im tanking i rly hate being healed by white mages, at least a scholar's fairy will heal me and not let my health get to 20% before casting anything – I know most of the people that play

    And yeah – WHM has the only aoe stun in the entire game as far as I know. It's an insane spell. I mean imagine having dmg on your melee stun ability and it hitting everything in range and having no cooldown… lol

  31. lol 'assert your healer dominance' xD This is actually a thing – when the healers play a game of Chicken with your lives in the balance. lol . As a whm main, I throw out all my regens and expect the other healer to shield properly to avoid extra dmg. On the whole, this takes care of – most – of the incoming dmg. Beyond that, it depends. If I feel the other healer can outDPS me, then I will gladly proceed to solo heal the raid as I'm fully capable of it. If I'm the better DPS, then the game of Chicken begins.

  33. The sad thing about Holy is that enemies gain stun immunity… so if the dps do less damage than you (it may feel like that) it's going to hurt… especially since newbie/average tanks will likely either have popped the cooldowns at the beginning and they run out or they don't notice on time.

    And then you got Rams Voice on Bluemage and you realize that Holy is just the sad, tiny sister of it xD

Sometimes the "your co-Healer will do it for you" is legitimate advice though… like I was in a Thordan run once, and my co-healer (sprout) started over healing right of the bat… I really did nothing but dps for the rest of the fight because realistically speaking, they wouldn't have stopped healing anyways (they probably wouldn't even notice when I'm healing or not)
    And besides, sometimes you see WHM or AST newbies do that thing where they use the AOE regen like 3 times in a row… that's just not mana efficient or good in general since every bit of dps helps.

    So while asserting your healer dominance is bull, you should try to watch your co-healers cast bar a little so you don't uselessly overlap and dps more instead

    Edit: since doing that also allows you to save mana, odds are you will be able to handle it better if the co-healer really screws up
