  7. Hey, this is some exciting news! Personally, I hail from Balmung on the Crystal data center, though not for the role-playing – it was my original server way back in the old 1.0 days (12+ years ago) but it was called something else then…Leviathan, maybe? I don't remember. I just stuck there since that's where all my friends stayed.

    Depending on whether or not you want to go beyond the free trial and do a paid subscription, the World you start on doesn't matter too much, because you can actually hop Worlds from major cities, or people can hop to your World…and when you do any kind of dungeon or raid or anything that requires "matchmaking", empty spots can be filled with your friends or randoms from any World on your data center. Though if you are looking to join a Free Company (basically a "guild"), or any other kind of community, you might want to pick from one of the Worlds that aren't described as "everyone keeps to themselves" or "a wasteland populated mainly by bots". It makes it easier to find helpful players if everyone isn't behaving like Squall ("Go talk to a wall.") XD

    Regardless, it would be a great honor to fight alongside you one day, whichever World you ultimately end up on. Good luck!

  10. You came in at a good time because the FF14 team is in progress of making the game more "solo friendly". That means that (after a few updates and patches) you will be able to play almost all of the dungeons with AI teams instead of human teams. Not to say that the users in the FF14 community are bad, they are usually nice or laid back, but it definitely gives you an opportunity to learn the dungeons by yourself before you add other people to the mix. Plus, it gives you a chance to fully absorb the dungeons and their design, since some players like to rush through the dungeons and speed run everything.

  13. Diabolos is so true! That is my server/ homeworld and it is very quiet. Like it is perfect if you want to just focus on yourself and the story and get shit done.
    I have played the game for years and still have yet to really make any friends on it lol.
    But I personally enjoy it much more this way, It is really a good server for solo players or if you're trying to avoid getting bombarded with players.
    People chat when needed but more often than not most dungeons and trials are done very quietly.
    The only time you hear people talk is to just say GG after a fight, a few commendations and everyone is once again back to their own world. 99% of the folks are all friendly. Just…very self reserved.

  16. A primal brother, welcome to the game! I hope you enjoy. A realm reborn used to have a beginning which dragged a bit but lots of jobs, dungeons and story was revamped to make it easier to digest and have fun with.

    I’ve played almost every FF except the mmos until my bf finally convinced me to try 14 almost 2 years ago. I’m hooked. I love it. Everyone is so nice. Hope you have a great time!

  31. Hmm….something always was holding me back too from playing this game. Idk maybe cuz I feel like it's too late? Like I'm joining the party late and when/if I get onto it, the player base is gonna start to slow down.
