  1. Ayyyy Tataru in a bucket made it in! I will be hiding in every stream I make it too. Be warned. 😂
I’m also glad you’re seeing just how special the relationship between the community and the devs is with The Rising.

  2. Naoki Yoshida is one of the few video game developers in the world that cares about his game as much as the player base, and it shows.
He’s dedicated, respected by his co-workers, actually plays the game he helped create (to the point where he’s one of the top 3 Black Mage Mains in the game).
The game wouldn’t be the same without him.

  3. You should look up last year's rising for the 10 year anniversary. There are playthroughs our there. It had letters and all sorts from the whole dev team as they would be in game. It was really something else!

  4. There are a number of fun recurring sub-plots in FFXIV's seasonal events. They seem to give the developers a chance to check in with the minor characters. Rhoswen and Carvallain is my ship and I will take any opportunity to help it sail.

  5. If it's not MSQ, I generally play with my sound off so I can watch/listen to somethjng while I play, but during The Rising, I walked through Uldah with the sound on and was stunned when I heard the background music switch to Dalamud Answers.

It made sense, considering what that version of the song represents, but still. Caught me off guard.

  6. I'm always reluctant to start the Rising event quest each year, and each year Yoshi P makes me cry… I really liked the quest for the 10 year anniversary were you guide a new adventurer just as you were guided at the beginning of the game, plus the regularly scheduled Yoshi P visit. It could be interesting to see if some youtubers recorded that one, though it probably won't hit as hard.

I also like how this event is not just a celebration of the game but takes the time to remember all the NPCs (and the game itself) who were lost to the calamity

  7. I'd strongly suggest checking out a video of last year's The Rising too. This year's was awesome, because the Rising is always awesome, but last year's brought newbie me to absolute tears of joy. I have never felt like a game's devs loves the players like in FFXIV.
