  1. You mentioning calling Wuk a "cowardly lion" made me think about how there's three siblings. What if they are all motifs of Wizard of Oz? Wizard of Oz is the great American Fantasy after all.
The Scholarly brother who might have something to do with Solution 9 could be like the tin man or something or even a Matrix reference which referenced the Wizard of Oz movie… "We're not in Kansas any more"
The hyur Woman we see in the poster could be like a Dorothy? The Heirs we meet for folk without a Courage, Heart or Brain could somehow connect to our continuing theme to "Hear, Feel, Think"

  2. Lyse has also kind of become the defacto diplomatic leader of Ala Mhigo which fits both her and Raubahn character wise. Lyse is more of a people person and Raubahn is more of a General than a king.

I've seen one comparison to Alphinaud, take that as you will.

  3. Man, don’t think I didn’t IMMEDIATELY notice the Rieve theme from Seekers of Adoulin good sir!

I really want this to be this games version of SoA in terms of exploration and story. Would love to see musical nods as well.

  4. Yay a new Stout video🎉

I loved Wuk Lamat's introduction. We didn't get to spend a ton of time with her this patch, but I feel like it portrayed her personality really well, and I can't wait to see her in Tural and any growth that comes with it. I was already looking forward to the expansion and however the rite of succession related to us, but now I'm even more excited to see how this plays out.

  5. I've had a theory that Wuk Lamat is just being used as a big, loud distraction for the Warmonger to focus on while one of the other claimants makes a bold move behind the scenes. Whether this means she doesn't end up leading and resents the deception or chooses to accept it as long as the Warmonger doesn't win will be where the true conflict comes in for probably the first half of the MSQ. Then it's going to be off to figuring out why Phatasy Star is making a cameo.

  6. I am honestly not sure if the English VA can bring the emotional depth that might be required to make her character go through some stuff in Dawntrail. If you look at people like Rene Zagger, Jonathan Bailey or Joe Dempsie. They all had a pretty good resume in television prior to doing their roles in XIV. Sena Bryner has barely anything on IMDB. From what I've seen so far I really hope she either surprises me a lot, or that Wuk Lamat is not as core to the plot as we think, and isn't the emotional center of the expansion.

  7. One thing is I've got to disagree with is describing Wuk Lamat as a "Cowardly Lion." yes she is afraid and putting on airs of Bravado but she presses on through it. That is the essence of courage. One thing that interests me is why Wuk Lamat is herself entering the succession contest rather than supporting Koana: There are a couple of potential reasons I could think of: either she doesn't think it would help, she feels obliged to compete or she thinks she could to better in some way. All of those are potentially interesting.
