I wouldnât, because itâs two hundred hours before they can touch it
The Lighthouse of Ridona, or however it's spelled, the environment in there is amazing and not spoilers for anything. Cool jobs doing cool things in that gorgeous place, specifically the moving stairs and gears
Omg, I drew a blank when I first heard the question…. WHAT in this ungodly and HUGE game would I show potential new players…? Obviously avoiding spoilers…. The only thing that popped into my head was the Cerberus mount that I recently earned (through TONS of frustration and hard work)… So probably show them the cool mounts and areas of the game.
Maybe even the Nier raid or cross overs like Monster Hunter would be where I start (remembering to turn on battle effects)
This is such an interesting idea I might make my own videos about this, one that is 5 minutes or so like Chris pointed out and one that is an hour.
The only hype is, that this terrible game is almost done, so SE can actually make a worthwhile MMORPG.
Iâve been watching yâall for years even though I never played…I was always fascinated by FF14 and was waiting for it to come to Xbox…but your raw passion for the game and all of the recent hype is why I pulled the trigger and Iâm currently playing on my crappy laptop. I get like 30fps on low graphics but it works and Iâm having a lot of fun so far!
Point out that it's an MMO that caters to the player's time. It's not a rush to get to endgame, it's a journey.
More class homogenization since the XIV community loves and/or ignores it.
I think đ€ you have to assume at best the new person knows nothing of the FF14 world. Yet there is only so much you can effectively show in a few mins. So you show them the adventures they could have across the entire world. You flash show them thru all the different jobs and all the cool glamor gear. You show them on their mounts journeying in the world in cool glamor, them in dungeons, raids and in the story. All the while transitioning thru the different cities life there. Some crafting, but the focus is on the world. In the end what appeal to me, you or anyone else is arbitrary at best and you have no idea what that may be.
I think if you're talking to a person you know, then you can figure out what might interest them.
If you gotta do it to a complete stranger though.. You could try and ask questions to figure it out, or try explaining some things and hope you hit the mark.
I'd also mention what I personally like about it, just as a by the way side comment.
Looking back, I'd say some key points for people have been: Art, Music, Gameplay, Story (sometimes), PvP, Community/Social Aspects, Time requirement/consumption/etc, Money requirement/incentivising/etc and prolly a couple other things that I can't remember.
But generally, it's less of "let's show this cuz this is something we as FFXIV players like" and more of "what would this non-FFXIV person like to see?", since sometimes that can differ, a lot.
I donât think hype is always a good thing. I think that pointing out its good things but more importantly itâs flaws would be better to point out so people can make a real informed decision if they wanna play it.
You can't really hype someone up for Endwalker if they've never played before. They're going to be experiencing the MSQ and doing catchup while everyone else is in the new content. If they weren't hyped by the full trailer from fanfest, then they'll never be hype for it. If you show them random content they'll just be confused because it's out of context. If you show someone Diablos Armament thing from Dalriada they'll probably think it's cool, but be confused as to why a mecha is in a game about swords and magic. You're better off just logging in and showing them the game like do a walk through of some of the cool beginning game zones, show something like Stone Vigil or WP. Show them glamour or your house if you have one, take them to the limsa aetheryte. Show them you can be all the jobs even crafter and gatherer. Show them the crystal tower. Basically anything that's relevant to the content they'll be seeing when they play. It's not right to show them story spoilers like Seat of Sacrifice, Final Steps, Royal Menagerie, those are moments that are supposed to wow you not be spoiled.
You just described a WelkAlber Job guide intro lol
One thing I always show people is the ARR Godbert running scene, and I sometimes follow up with the initial HW Godbert scene where he discovers Hildy in the snow. I tell them if they want an explanation, and there is kind of one, play the game lmao.
I think there is no need for hype. If you have played any Final Fantasy games then you know what's waiting for you there. If you haven't then may god bless you on your life. I reject advising people to play this game. If you like it then it's your luck. If you don't oh boy you need more than luck to be safe in your lifeđ
"Remember when the Starn Wars sequel trilogy was announced? Now imagine if it were written by Dave Filoni and Timothy Zahn"
I'd hype it with this.

Donât do what my friend did where he show me world of darkness and his hud was a mess
Playing the free trial now. Should i activate once I finish Heavensward? The restrictions are starting to hinder a lot of things đ
Would it be possible to get you guys on my friend list or possibly a crossword linkshell? Rikith Zerophux on Jenova.
Show people all the scantily clad bunny and cat girls and that alone would make up 50% of the success lmao
