Hello👋
During the Treasure Trove event, I had a few weird runs
in the Crystal Tower raids I've been put in.
There's this certain case I still remember in full.
All three culprits happened to be in my party and I couldn't do anything 'bout their antics.
They kept sprinting and jumping ahead, sabotaging/pulling enemies and bosses when all other alliances where not even there and caused quite a ruckus, a few wipes/massacres included.
Then they proceed to trashtalk the Alliance chat about "how to have fun", including downtalking how apparently Germany lost its sense for humour since WW2 (while ironically replying things in German such as "Ich habe Krebs. xd" ("I got cancer. xd") ) upon other players asking them how this is fun.
I just wondered if that is actually tolerated.
I might probably have reported it if it was something the Support and GMs (and whoever checks these reports) would actually care about, in its entirely and how it is counterproductive to the majority, even if its just with 21 other players in an instance.
I haven't filed a report since the last Treasure Trove event since I got the impression that SE kinda of tolerates that kind of borderline behavior and wants to keep even the problem kids in the game. 🤔
Thank you for this. I’ve had more than one instance of briefing I’ve wanted to report, such as gladiators and marauders who refuse to equip their job stones in level 30+ dungeons and yell at the healer for letting them die(instead of, you know, them not having any mitigations outside Rampart and Reprisal) and people intentionally unbalancing the scale in Algaia at the last 0.0005 second to force a raid wipe. Fun…
I only ever reported someone for RMT, it was the typical RMT shout spam bot near popular Aetherytes. But seeing how they're still here (or just managed to return), I reached the conclusion that SE doesn't really care. So I stopped reporting those.
I'm very hesitant about most reports, though, unless a player straight up confirmed in chat what they want to do. Because how am I going to distinguish between a player who doesn't know any better or just lacks the skill and someone who intentionally attempts to ruin it for others? I mean, sure, it is very obvious sometimes, but other times mistakes just happen, even to experienced players and even multiple times in a row.
But there are cases when it's not about their performance in whatever content we're doing. Stalking, harassment, and other activities can be a problem as well.
I think it's good that reporting isn't a brain dead activity and that players have to put in effort to report others. This is to prevent false reports or just reporting players to annoy them
edit: I remember one person. That healer repeatedly rescued me towards everyone else when I had an AoE tank buster coming my way. It didn't work, but it was annoying. I didn't think of reporting at the time, but should've done it. Instead I killed the healer with the tank buster and probably could've been reported for that.
I got my dead body squat spammed after I died in a dungeon by a DPS who was pulling more than the new-ish tank was comfortable with, and dragging monsters to the backline before the tank could grab them all. That particular DPS never attacked anything except to pull them, and the party was wiped 4 times.
I didn't say a word to them, but when I noticed they were literally WALKING and not hitting anything except to drag more enemies over to us, I knew I was in for a ride. Nobody in the party knew how to kick someone, so everyone just went with it without saying a word, and I learned how to vote to kick people afterwards. I also learned how the report system works, and filed my first and, so far, ONLY report I've had to do.
(That is, unless you count the RMT spam bots, I report at least 2 a day… )
I'm glad "being bad" isn't a reason to kick or report people, or I'd be reported for dying to Titan (Hard) at least once a fight. Some of the moves are so quick, even with Sprint, it's hard not to die sometimes… but me dying nearly every time might be a skill issue at some point. But I'm not trolling, I'm doing my bestest
I was under the impression that I'd already reported someone before, unless reporting the RMT bots is easier or I muted them instead or something. I might be confusing it with Runescape where it's two clicks to report someone and some places I can end up reporting 10 bots at the same time.
Do reports need to be in English, though? I'm not from an English-speaking country. While it can be played in EN (and it is what I do), the version I bought is not the EN one. So report in English or in my native language? The game itself supports my native language.
