You can also add a circle of scorn before FoF (weaving it right before FoF) and you will be able to cast another one before requiescat.

“How to not be bad” = 4 atonement FoF apparently
If you clip your gcd even one bit during the sword oath carry-over you lose the entire atonement so it’s extremely punishing, when people are trying to “not be bad” prolly don’t start doing this lol
For req opener, the only time to use it generally is on e11 so you can use it again before he fucks off for sundered. At the 3 second countdown use your FoF, then use your atonement (hold the stacks) and use goring blade combo and then continue on with atonement stacks and go into Req magic combo. And before sundered happens you will go into another req combo.

I know you can't use Hallowed Ground to reduce the damage from Cover, but do your standard defensives work? And can you block the damage with shelltron?

Dont forget the most important part of being a paladin tank is being a lala. You are small enough to hide behind your shield and look more badass in the process. Thats the real goal.
as a sprout paladin (first class i started with) i quickly found out i never EVER use shield bash and took it off my hotbar completely after some time. why would i use a GCD that breaks combo (iirc?) when i can just low blow? most stuff i fight that i feel threatened enough to try and stun are immune to stuns anyways aka bosses. any vet pld correct me if im wrong.

I really like the req opener in p4 in TEA. It lines up really nicely with stillness and its higher potency than the FoF opener regardless of whether or not you are 3rd or 4th gaol.
Shield bash was useful in e8s adds phase, and that's about the only time I've ever used it in a raid. I would not be surprised to see shield bash go away in Endwalker.

I know other people hate button bloat, but paladin having a fuckton of actions is one of the main reasons I love the job. I'm playing an MMO, dammit, give me buttons to press.
Also, shield bash has uses but not in a raiding scenario. Though to say it should be kept in the game because of deep dungeon would be….. yea……. ideally you wouldn't get in a situation where you need a stun but your off global stun is down, but there it is. The one niche case where shield bash is nice.
I just picked up paladin and I absolutely love it. Not at max level yet, but I'm looking forward to it

I had to come back to this and thank you. Literally never occured to me to hold a sword oath and get 4 per FoF window. This increased my numbers and it tests my adaptability per fight. Sometimes it’s easier than others to get it just right… but thank you sincerely for all you do for Tank Kind. We owe you, Xeems.

Req opener was better for me on TEA ultima, because my static was separating the 2 adds at first , so ending with confitor will hit both adds , Also for phase two with C and BJ it worked better as opener to magic aoe them before separating them too, Tried both openers and Req was better for our strats so yeah it depends on the fight and optimize
