How To Get Your FFXIV Character From Textools To Blender And Prepare Them For Animation

Also I cant stress enough that I am just a blender noobie and lots of things I do are pretty scuffed lol

A vital Blender addon you will need is MekTools. Go to the FFXIV Mod Archive website and set up an account to be able to get it. The addon is free, but I highly encourage you to join Meku’s Patreon as this took years of work and development and for it to be available to the public is very generous.

Hope this helps some of you get started!

  1. I can also add that if your character has heterochromia, you can go into edit mode and divide your eyes by objects so that they're independent objects. (therefore you can now give them different materials.)
After that you can copy the information of your eye material and make a new material with the same properties and then change the colour. I'm shite at explaining and there's probably easier ways to do it but that's how I got it working.

Also for face markings, they do copy to the back of your head if you use Meku's ad ons and use their ways of adding them. If you have custom hair that leaves the neck bare, you can instead open the face texture and paint on the markings yourself in a drawing program to make sure it doesn't wrap around the head
