How I Got My Non-Gamer Wife HOOKED on Final Fantasy 14!

With Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker 6.4 The Dartk Throne out now, I knew I had to convince my better half to join me again. It wasn’t the fighting. It wasn’t the glamour. It wasn’t the story. But what actually got her in was something more…mothery!

  1. this was a nice find on my feed. So wholesome, and I love that the kids are all lalas so they still look like your children in comparison. its really cute. It reminds me of my SO who also plays, and my younger sibling when they were trying out the game and enjoyed it. Though the PS4 broke and we lost access to the account when it got replaced with a ps5… someday he will return to Eorzea

  2. This is so great. I wish i could get my mom into this game too, but alas she doesn't speak English.
I'm glad I learned it though or I would have missed out on mountains of content! And amidst all that content, brilliant gems like this game.
    Wouldn't that be tragic? Haha

  3. That's so adorable and wholesome. Serious props to your wife for getting over those hurdles to play with the family. What a unique and memorable family photo.

I hope one day I can go on adventures with a family of my own, and build precious memories akin to these.

  4. Thanks for sharing this. I got 3 young kids and we play some games and my wife likes that we spend time together and i teach them how to play when the day is almost ending before bed. When they're older I won't mind teaching my kids ff14 or whatever we're into at that point

  6. 4:00 Absolutely! I've never played MMOs and was surprised how pleasant FFXIV was. Very new gamer friendly. This game is such an amazing social game, but it's also great you can sorta play as single player game too! So it's a little of something for everyone.

Hope you all enjoy your journey together!

  7. I thought that one video about how you and your boys got into the adventure together was heartwarming… This is a whole new level 🙂 Its true you get into FF14 very easy, especially as a non-gamer. And if thats what get family and friends together, I'm all for it. Have fun you all!

  8. Bro this is so cute. My brother and I were 12 and 11 when we started playing FFXIV. Our dad paid our sub but unfortunately neither him nor our mother wanted to give the game a try haha.

  9. The only family that I know of that games together is Hololive's Kiara, she talked about her family playing WoW and other games together like a gamer family.

  10. I love to see other families play MMOs together! Me and my dad have been playing WoW for 18 years now, he carried me when I was a kid and now i return the favor. And me and my sister started playing FFXIV together in 2021 and we even raid in the same static. Gamer families are just the best 🙂

  11. I was an outdoor type. Got drawn into gaming in my late 30s by my eldest daughter pestering me to help her when she was stuck.
My wife never got into it, though.
It was only after the kids left home that I finally persuaded her to have a go – and FFXIV was the game that did it.
So now I have a pink-haired ellezen companion who loves ocean fishing trips!

  12. Ughhhh this makes me tear up man.

I’ve always wanted to get my family into gaming because of how fun it is escape the stressful world from time to time and just spend it as a family.

Unfortunately they are very old fashion and stuck to the guns that gaming is a waste of time.

Hopefully I can follow in your tracks to raise a family of Lalafels to raid throughout the world of Eorzia haha

  13. Mum, dad and 3 boys. Who has to sit out for a regular duty? 😝 Now, can your wife call my wife? I’ve been trying for years and gave up. Even though FF14 would be one she’d enjoy, thanks to its story and great community.

  14. I hope we get to see more stories about this. I'd love to see if she likes the character developments in Heavensward. Seeing Alphinaud grow throughout each expansion was so nice.
