Over my time running this channel, I have gotten a lot of requests for videos on how to make gil. However, I’ve never actually done it, and in this video I’ll go over why. Consider this the only gil-making video you will ever need.

  1. This video was so, down to Earth and honest that it convinced me to sub to your channel. â€ïžđŸ‘
It’s true that furniture sells like crazy. I placed a few items on ‘sale’ on a retainer to free some space from my inventories and even though the price I put on them was absurd, because I didn’t actually intend to sell them, someone still bought them! Same with dyes! I’m not a ‘grinder’! Fun is much more essential in a game so don’t worry too much about gil. Did you know? As a new player, you can get 1 million gil at least, just from doing the MSQ from ARR to Heavensward. Now continue and see just how much gil you’ll get total, once you’ve finished Endwalker. 😁 Thank you Jolsn! â€ïžđŸ‘

  2. While I agree with some things you said, I also don't agree with others. Over the two years of playing this game, I've tried virtually every possible way of making gil: from crafting leves, to reselling vendor items, to crafting furniture, crafting consumables, latest gear, FC workshop etc. And one thing I can say with confidence is: there is not a single 'exploit' or 'hack' that will bring you large amounts of gil with low amount of effort. It all boils down to how much effort you are willing to put into making gil and if the outcome is worth the effort you are putting in.
I don't mind talking about things I do to make gil because I know most of the people will not be willing to put in as much work as I did into it. I have made about 100mil from the patch day of 6.2 just because I was prepared and was the first to put up the new crafted gear on the market board. People bought several pieces of new gear for 10mil each, just because they wanted to get into the raid first and have the best gear as soon as possible. So yes, you can get lots of gil overnight. But what does it take to do that? Well, it takes lots of analyzing. What mats are going to be reused, what are going to be the new ones? Farming the mats you can farm before the patch. Midmaxing your stats so you make sure you can craft the new recipe without remelding. Being able to craft new recipes without macros. Being able to predict which nodes the new items will drop from. And so many others. It's very tedious and not at all easy.
So why do I do it? Because I don't actually like crafting or gathering or manipulating the market. As I've said, I've tried so many methods, and sure they all bring gil to an extent, but nothing is as fast as patch day. So because I don't like crafting, I do the thing that requires the least time spent crafting. I pre-gather all the mats and then spend one or two days just crafting and earn millions of gil and then? Then I enjoy the game til the next patch day, never having to worry about making gil until then 🙂

  3. I just want to say first that as a new player I love your videos and they have been extremely helpful! Second anyone who has played guild wars two knows this very well! It’s all convenience. Love the video!

  4. I had finally found a few good items like Iron Chairs that worked like those windows 2 weeks before 6.2 dropped. Now people get them from retainer ventures and the price dropped 45k to 1k… Market research back to 0.
However, I did make tons of money selling materia (about 200 of several kinds). While red ones actually dropped in price due to over supply, the gathering ones especially sold well because those prime nodes were not expected and a lot of people had to upgrade their melds for it.

  5. All i remember from a friend who has 999 mil gil on himself and 7 retainers is, back in HW release and SB release you could make 500 mil per week with a tiny bit of luck, and bil with a lot of luck. He made 8 billion in 3 months 😀

  6. It depends on what's dropping in new patches. Strangest thing some times old gear like Neo Ishgardian goes up in price because no one was crafting them anymore! So yes have to hunt the market see what's being made and what isnt. I made a hefty 50mil just selling all the MSQ HQ gear and GSM accessory items that are always expensive in mb and not enough supply for them

  7. one big tip for making gil without even touching the market is just: treasure maps

sure some days/runs are better than others, but you can bring in so much gil just by doing them, and that’s not even touching the mats you (can maybe) get from them

  8. A lot of the mega gil freaks i’ve seen actually barely play the market at all. They run submersible ventures through their own FC and sell the items they bring back. It takes time to set it up initially, but once you do, it’s just a handful of clicks every couple days that bring stuff you can dump into vendors for about 50k/mission sometimes. I knew a guy with 8 solo fcs with different alts where he just did this.

  9. My advice as a stock market trader in rl that has 200 mill gil.

Do the opposite of market sentiment, in ff14 its a month to see how the market works.

    RL takes 6 months.

This guy is actually giving you good advice 👏

  10. I can 100% confirm you can make a bucket-load of Gil selling furniture. You just have to pick something that looks really nice, cost little to make (mainly time taken to gather materials). In my server I made millions selling a certain item over a period of months. You just have to keep an eye on the market and not over make your item of choice until most of your stock is selling consistently. Otherwise you may be waiting a long time to sell all the goods to free up other slots for your retainer to sell other things. Then just check every hour or so that people are not under cutting you too much and just wait. I've also notice most of my furniture sells more from Friday to Sunday.

  11. After trying all those steps mentioned at the start I also gave up becausre it was just not worth it. Now I just do the same as said here and sell materials and furniture people are too lazy to craft themselves. And find a rich static member that pays you 5mil for every shadowbringer mount they are still missing also really helps 😂 jokes aside, even with little efford, if you stay consitent and keep the flow going, gil will accumulate itself over time. Patience is key, always.

  12. I'm not worried about making gil every day, and I'll make it when I can, via a minion drop, or orchestra. I also cannot get into crafting. It pains me. But what I do love doing is running dungeons, dailies, extremes. So when 6.2 dropped, I filled the void the crafters needed to make all that 610 gear. I farmed tomes, bought the mats and by the time I closed my retainers menu, they were selling. Rinse and repeat. All said, I sold about 8M in mats at 6.2. Not bad for a weeks work, doing what I already enjoy doing in game

  13. As a housing decorator, i can 1000% confirm that you will make money on housing items; that being said, be reasonable; no one will buy your Verdant Partition Wall for 500k, us decorators will simply server hop for them at max 100k. We get a set amount per commission, not an endless supply of money. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

  14. Best way to make money quick and easy is the first 3 weeks after a patch or expansion drop.

After that you will need a rotation of times to sell because no matter what the market does flood with one thing. So you need to have another to fall back on while the markets stabilize.

That thing will vary from server to server.

Also make use of your retainers to gather your items or materials.

    That my advice.

  15. Leveling crafters is so handy for everything OTHER then crafting. Doing your own melds saves ya gil, mending your own gear saves you gil (plus you can extort your static now) and as an avid raider I make most of my money by desynth these days. Ever since Stormblood this game has been flooded with so many maxed out omni crafters that only an idiot would actually craft lmao
