Hey man, Love your videos Always glad to hear your insight on all things FFXIV. My issue with raiding as a BLM is that It takes me longer to learn a fight because I'm always looking for spots that will help me optimize dps where I can stand still and be the sexy glass cannon a BLM can be Also most groups are solely focused on parsing. Now, I understand at certain points its important, however, give me the opportunity to learn the fight and don't just tell me "come back when you have more exp" when in order for me to be consistent, I have to be with a group to learn how to work with them. I've always wanted to do end game raids. The closest I've gotten was in shadowbringers where I got to Garuda-Frit in Eden Savage. Ramuh was easy for me and the challenge was executing all the mechs for that garuda/ Ifrit savage fight. I cleared it, but the group dropped me and another player before I could even do Iconoclasm Savage. That completely turned me off from raiding b/c they wouldn't even allow me to stick with them, even when I did go on my own to "gain more exp" after a while ( about 10 runs with coming close ) no clear. So it turned me off from raiding. Any suggestions as to what type of group would be for me.
My issue at least on Chaos Data-centre is there's a lot of "casual" groups who are focusing on parsing and want 3 nights a week. It's really hard to find groups as an inexperienced person tbh
10 hour-days of non-stop raiding for a week straight is kinda insane, but I guess that's why it's hardcore.
I feel like it's kinda hard to join a static as a working adult, since I simply cannot commit so much time for a game anymore. I'm sure there are plenty of more casual groups out there, but even with those it can feel bad to call it a day, when the previous attempts have been somewhat promising. I remember a couple times, where my group would continue for another 2 hours, after we had almost gotten the kill without ever being successful in the end. Maybe I'll give it another try in Endwalker, but I'll probably just stick to the normal-difficulty raids and leave the hardcore stuff to people who can actually enjoy it 🙂
Going hardcore for a new tier sounds like a good experience. I'm not averse to a typical 2 days a week and figuring it out in a couple weeks, but going for a world first race experience and taking like a few days to a week off to commit to going all in sounds like an experience I should try at least one time in the future.
oh so if I've got a mediocre group of tanks/healers, progging is even harder cuz the healers waste gcds on overhealing, never use their ogcds, and tanks don't even know their rotations. which makes dps checks near impossible. good thing we're doing old content synced lmao.
This comments remind me why I don’t do this kind of content lol I’m happy playing for fun and not turning it into a job.
Thats why i dont care about raiding. Most important i can get all the stuff later anyway. And especially for me i dont qant to play a game in shedules or anything like that, it would just drag the fun out of the game. I have a shedule in irl why should i want stuff like that in a game anyway. But when ppl enjoy it: enjoy!
Honestly, its your game play how you like it. And thats what yoshi p always said to everyone.
