  1. out of all the gundam shows to reference, they reference ZZ Gundam and Stardust Memory. Which, while neat, was pretty unexpected as Japan tends to reference either the 1st Gundam or stuff like SEED and 00 lately

  2. Terncliff has one of the best and most surprising pieces of music in the game. I was not expecting a plaintive reimagining of "Imperial Will" and "Penitus" to ever exist, let alone be so powerful. Plus, the town is gorgeous, with its blue stencils on whitewashed brick.

Also: the Ruby Weapon checkpoint reveal took us all by surprise, too.

  3. I wasn't really planning to do the Trail quests of ShB. But this story seems better than Eden story. Which while better than the StB raid story, that wasn't saying much(Except the Nero parts which were great).

  4. It's quite telling how even when Gaius was at his highest level of influence in the Empire, when his name was synonymous with being a hero of the empire and such, his Garlean subordinates were still incredibly racist despite Gaius' personal beliefs. He can lead by strength all he wants, but it seems he's the only one that believed in it.

  5. Well, in an interview on these patches, the producers literally said one scene is to pay respect of Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory, thatโ€™s why the scenes are so familiar! (And I love the gundam battle in this game)

  6. Yoshi-P is a known huge Gundam fan, so there's some definite references for sure. Wait till Diamond weapon, the fight is a draw back to one particular fight in the Stardust Memories series.

  7. So glad that you are enjoying this story line. It is so compelling, sad, and hype all at once. Activating the G-Warrior literally had me squealing with joy. And the pain you feel from Gaius (especially as a parent myself) feels so real this story had me in tears multiple times. I mentioned it before in your top three moments video but this story has two of my top slots, the aforementioned G-Warrior activation, and the conclusion that you will soon reach. Have fun, enjoy the ride, and ready your tissues, because you WILL cry.

  8. Devs all confirmed they're all Gundam and Gunpla fanboys. The references are more than leaking from everything in weapon story line down to the rewards. When you fly the G-Savior, it does the ZZ pose, does the newtype sense sounds, your shield is literally an I-Field

  9. Ah, watching vid reminds me that you haven't done the Stormblood Alliance Raids, which kind of expand more on what auracites are used for. Also if you talked to the npc in front of the bunker at Terncliff, you have an option to look at the G-Warrior, which is also good for a screenshot!

  10. I love all of the FF7 references in this questline, as Iโ€™m a crazed 7 fan myself. The moment I saw Ruby marching in the field, its textbox blue with silver lining (just like FF7โ€™s!!!) I screamed so hard. Getting to see high quality Ruby, Emerald and Diamond before the 7 remake; seeing the story has such tiny nods to 7 like the human experimentations, the dad transformed into a malformed creature in the cockpit seemingly like the mako creatures that were once humans in the pods in Nibelheim reactor; the mad scientist/leader doing all these monstrosities out of jealousy towards a greater predecessor (Valens towards Gaius; Hojo towards Gast); and the children being the ones who gets the power but also to suffer from their โ€œfatherโ€™sโ€ actions (the Auri children pilots and Sephiroth)โ€ฆ so many parallels made for such great stories told in unique ways.
