  1. Not that I don’t appreciate the effort of the video, but the fact this has to be taught at all goes to show how far the content resistance has slipped since 2.0

In 2.0 you learned LOS by necessity, and you then quickly learned how quickly you could have hate ripped off you. Now a shield lob will hold a mob through a triple flare and the aggro bar won’t budge. After not playing for many years imagine my shock when I saw it. Decided to play a dungeon as BLM, got brayflox hard, used flare x flare x flare and popped manawall expecting to have ripped, my aggro bar was empty. Started testing this, triple flared a mob that had one been hit with a shield lob, aggro bar was empty. I don’t actually understand where the game is in the game anymore.

I still have keep it in your pants macros and quips about this being a dungeon not your prom night. Never to be laughed at again by a healer who let a horny dragoon tank the floor.

  2. Thanks for this. I know it’s often not necessary to use strategies like these in FFXIV dungeons but anything to make my life easier as someone who often plays a healer is appreciated lol.

FFXIV may not be a game where max level dungeons involve LoS, CC, Trash Pack pull management, Stealth skips, Buff Dispelling, Kiting, Party Cooldown management to reduce Agro issues, Trash priorities, Shortcuts, and Frequent Interrupts….

BUT it’s a game that revels in the simple joys of wall-to-wall pulling and very easy to follow linear layouts. You never have to plan ahead what packs to pull and what packs to avoid and you’re not punished by bad players who won’t communicate to participate in strategies to ensure dungeon success. Heck, you can just not bind your interrupt and stun and you’ll be fine 95% of the time.

That’s awesome in it’s own way, and it’s the reason I love dungeon tanking so much in this game.

  3. Awesome advice. Sharing with friends. A vid about tank swapping would be invaluable. A lot of vets in the game don't think twice about it. They're all about opener/rotation/defensives. But this tier will be the first extreme / savage for a lot of players. That's a lot of hours not using shirk.

  4. Just wanted to thank you for your great guides. They helped me a lot becoming more confident in tanking. Even cleared my first few extreme primals and am pretty confident when having to main tank. Keep up the great work and thanks a bunch.

  5. Thank you so much for these tank guides! I main a healer but decided to lvl a tank just to get a better understanding of skills they have. It plays very different (and I still sometimes remind myself that yes, I must be standing at the face of the boss) so your videos truly help a lot <3
