  1. at Lv 20 you get a mount, at Lv 30 though you can turn your mount into a battle companion for open world content. a quest in the south shroud unlocks for you to complete. My Feisty Little Chocobo. you complete it and with the use of Gysahl Greens you can summon them to fight alongside you for 30min per Green up to a total of 60min. they have their own little talent trees, which is in the Companion Window, the same place you can change their barding selection. you can buy barding sets from the quartermaster of your Grand Company once youve ranked up or from Jonathas in Gridania for achievement point tokens. there are tons of other ways to get barding but those are easy sets to get for newcomers.

  2. Im so glad you didnt name him Kweh, its like the most used chocobo name in the game 😛 I like Bort! Wehn you get to level 30 he will fight with you and you can teach him spells, he will tank, heal and dps, and you can even change his color if you have access to a chocobo stable! 🙂

  3. Haha sorry Two I was laughing so hard when you was running into that lvl 40+ zone, and at your reaction when the penny dropped that you didn't pick up the quest. I love that you don't edit out these fun noobie moments, as sure most us that play games have had derp moments when playing a new game. 😛 Also, don't you have an item in your bag, that looks like an envelope? can't remember name of item but sure had 'Waking Sands' in its name? It teleports you to the waking sands when used, instead of you having to do that horrible long run whenever Minfilia cries 'prey return to the waking sands' xD If memory serves I'm sure you get given a small stack of teleports when you join the scions.
