the only PLD uniqueness is that it can save a raid prog with Cover
in E10s you can save a healer during VG2 if 3 towers is empty and the healer can LB3 after the tower explode
in E12s you can save a healer during the final lion combo only
in Endsinger Extreme you can save a raid by giving a cover to a healer if there is 4 towers empty and then just healer LB3
Tank swapping in P1 can be ignore by Cover strat by PLD taking the debuff and the MT take the flare or stack
How cover works in FF is like you pretty much giving your body to another person and that person's body just disappears (does not work on ENRAGE or any dmg that goes through invlun) but any cover dmg can only be mitigated not invlun which is weird and a unique coding since it goes through invlun but you can still mitigate the dmg
everyone can say PLD cover is a meme but for me its a top tier Utility
I disagree with many things my favorite mald strummer says, but as a humble, lowly raider who Mains PLD, his takes on tanks are very effing accurate.
I find it baffling how to this day some people still don't understand the basic concept of a number squish.
They wanna use shiny wording. At the expense of making sense. On warrior: "It consists of learning to take control of their wrath and unleash it on their enemies using their axe at full strength and the Inner Release ability." You're not taking control of your wrath, you're actually using it as soon as it's available… every 60s… And making sure it aligns with the 120s group buffs… If anything it's the opposite, you're going batshit insane as much as you can…
regarding that stat squish.. I have the feeling the devs forgot to adjust Dark Damage.. I heared that Blue Mages had Problems in A4S regarding this and once I died underwater in that one Rak'tika MSQ due to poison.. that was kinda diabolical ^^;

My question is, why would they not get someone who actually plays the game to write their article as a guest writer?
These websites release these “informative” articles that are either misleading, or plain straight wrong. Such poor quality I say! I can imagine a new player having a few moments of bot knowing what is going on because the article they read was misleading, and having to scour Reddit or something to know what the hell is wrong.

Saying people don't play pld and then siting fflog as a source is kinda funny because fflog is skewed data in the first place, since fflog has a lot of parses from speed kills, so obviously with pld being one of the lowest dps, you simply won't get quite as may parses as the other tanks, and WAR is very much an outlier because holmgang is still broken when you take into account the individual fights and not the effects of the invuln, there are so many fights where if your comp has a war, you can simply invuln all the TB instead of resolving them normally, and that's because holmgang has the shortest CD, if holmgang had a 5 min CD like DRK LD, WAR wouldn't be quite as popular.
tbh this seemed like a copy article. There’s a bot that will copy an article and swap around a couple words here and there. It’s possible it’s just a dumbass, but the poor word choice makes me suspicious
I feel like half these articles are written by a bot based off things other people say online. It's just like an algorithm compiling the damn article together.

For an article that is meant for newer players, I take offense to this article. 😛
Dark knight is a job that people pick up for cool factor but it gets a little uncomfortable when dealing with dungeons going from 60-90. Mostly because the darn thing requires people to use both TBN AND mits while tanking multiple packs, where as something like warrior can just coast on the one button defiance plus rotating a couple of heal CDs. I think the only time I had trouble with a warrior was when they were in 460 gear in tower of zot. That was a painful experience on sage. 😀

Endsinger EX and Hades EX both force you away from the boss for a pretty extended amount of time, so it does come in to play every once in a while.
gnb relying on a healer? watch me pop HoC before superbolide to insta heal 20k upon invul with aurora ticking during the whole duration of my invul resulting in 3-4 ticks of 5k healing, im basically full

Paladin isn't the only tank that can heal its allies…
Gunbreaker has Aurora which heals for like 3k per tick for up to 6 ticks and Heart of Corundum which can crit for up to 22k and Warrior has Nascent Flash which can crit heal for up to like 11k 4 times in a row so long as the Warrior has something to hit.

Y'all know these articles are mostly just some poor intern forced to write piece of shit SEO bait to make quick bucks for their employer, right? That's why all of these articles are more or "did some quick googling and found stuff that sounds about right" and someone who's good at doing that can spit out something decently correct about any game whether they play it or not. Pretty awful job, especially for those going into it thinking they'll be writing about stuff they actually know and/or care about.

Actually don't see why people are aganist paladin as MT? like all tanks pretty much are great at MTing, pld is prolly slightly worse then gunbreaker? but doesn't have to worry about weaving and is easier to position the boss. Heck Req/holys spam benefits from MTing. I generally enjoy being MT as PLD.
