Welcome to my first clear and reaction to Cinder Drift, the First instance in the questline named Sorrows of Werlyt. I am already invested into these Au Ra characters, and I am excited to see how Gaius was before we knew him from the ARR MSQ and the meme of ‘such devastation’ in the Praetorium. The Black wolf surprised me in the caring and soft side he showed when he saw his Au Ra Children at the end of the Trial!
The encounter itself was incredible! The twist with the Oversoul function was unreal to see how it evolved and it revealed just how messed up the Empire has gotten in their lust for ‘God-like’ power.
Can’t wait to continue this questline!

edit: IDR, have you done the Coil series? If you haven't, the second phase of this fight is basically just a massive callback to t9, right down to the music. Also, if you look up when the boss is doing her giant nuke in that phase, you'll see that she's… actually dropping (a simulated version of) Dalamud on you.

The body horror parts of Shadowbringers were about as creepy as they could be with the game's teen rating. That monstrosity that popped out was what the ruby weapon transformed the pilot into when they activated the oversoul D:
sadly the second phase of the ruby fight doesnt hit as hard if you havent done Turn 9 of coils aka Second Coil Turn 4.

There’s only so much horror they can do in FFXIV with a teen rating but they went all out in ShB with the sin eaters and the weapon trials
BOOOOOOIIIIIIIIII. I gotta be honest, I didn’t really care for the sorrow of werlyt story but the fights were so fun! Maybe I’ll pay more attention when I do it on my alt.
