i. Here are some fixes that you can try if you are getting the “Unable to download patch files” error on Windows when trying to update Final Fantasy XIV:
Restart your computer. This may seem like a simple solution, but it can often fix minor problems that can cause the error.
Check your internet connection. Make sure that you have a strong and stable internet connection. If you are using a wireless connection, try moving closer to your router or using a wired connection instead.
Disable your firewall and antivirus software. Sometimes, firewalls and antivirus software can interfere with the FFXIV patcher. Try disabling them temporarily and see if that fixes the issue.

Update your graphics drivers. Outdated graphics drivers can sometimes cause problems with the FFXIV patcher. Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed.
Repair or reinstall the FFXIV game. If you have tried all of the above and you are still getting the error, you may need to repair or reinstall the FFXIV game. To do this, open the FFXIV launcher and click on the “Options” button. Then, click on the “Repair” or “Reinstall” button.
If you have tried all of the above and you are still getting the error, you can contact Square Enix support for help.
