I enjoy so much of the game, but a LOT of the story just drives me crazy. Feel like my character is forced to be an idiot. Letting enemies walk away constantly in cut scenes. Helping people/groups I actively dislike. MSQ is what keeps me from rushing to the end because I need to take breaks and remind myself why I like the game by doing other content. The world lore is incredible. The zones, the dungeons, etc. But that MSQ…tests my patience.
Shadowbringers is better than Heavensward, but Heavensward is fantastic.
Mmmmm…. Shadowbringers is the best expansion and best storyline, but Heavensward is a close second yes…

I also have Final Fantasy Tactics as one of my favorites so I am very sure you would like the Return to Ivalice alliance raids. Just a note that FFXIV is not just an MMORPG, it is a Final Fantasy MMORPG, as the developers have said. Given that it is a main numbered FF game it needs to have a good story. The story is required to do the elements of the other half which is the MMORPG. Also for me Shadowbringers is the best expansion and best story cementing FFXIV as my all time favorite FF game.
ShadowBringers is definitely the best expansion in FFXIV and probably the best expansion in the history of gaming.

In that context, FF14 is Wow with a sophisticated leveling process. It's still an MMO. You could say it's a 'superset' of an MMORPG, the additional part having properties of an ORPG.
Ur way farther than I am. I’m at lvl 50 working through trying to get to the first expansion so I can switch from warrior to Dark Knight but I’m having fun playing and I like that the hard versions of stuff is a challenge but as long as I watch videos before hand I haven’t had a problem beating any of it so far with people.
