Final Fantasy XIV will soon be playable as an *almost* entirely solo-able “single player” RPG AND is getting a graphical overhaul that tremendously improves the game’s visuals. Here’s my thoughts!

What's going on with the live action final fantasy 14 movie?
I stopped playing just before the launch of 3.0. I was really upset that they released the Leviathan fight that you could grind for level 95 weapons. Up until that point, you only had one chance for a week to get a level 95 weapon. It felt like all of my work getting max level for all of my classes was pointless. But eventually when I get a PlayStation 5 pro, I plan to play through mostly just the story aspect of the game. I won't ever commit myself to the grind in an MMO ever again.
Alright, I'll play it.
so where is the playthgough of endwalker…you just putting filler content…i wanna see the real deal, your reactions to endwalker…where are they?
I had those MMO anxiety, but as soon as I started this game I realised you can totally play this game without interacting with anyone
you said you wanted more subs…so where is the videos of you playing ew??? im waiting…not that you will respond, because its clear you dont care about youtube, only about twitch…otherwise you would have streamed the playthrough here, and have the vod available, like a lot of cool ff14 streamers do.
im curious…do you actually read the coments and care about youtube? If so respond to this with the answers to my question…if no response happens its clear you dont care at all about youtube…so go to your twitch thing and stay there.
Solo play was what I've been waiting for… can not wait
I'm so glad for this. Been wanting to play this but I play games super slow because I work a lot so I can't really justify playing online with people who play every day. Will definitely be playing this whole thing solo.
I'm not concerned about playing with others. I am concerns about subscriptions, even if it is worth it.
Great! Another alternative way to lvl another job that im not fully confident in.. and while the squadron system is great the squadmates sure is dumb tho…. 😂😂
What's the video at 4:00?
I haven't played FF14 since early 2017, not long before Stormblood was released. I got a character to 60 and got him ready for that expansion, and then… quit. The dungeons were so stressful. I wouldn't have quit had it not been for the fact that I needed 30 minutes to recover after every dungeon run. I was a good healer. I wasn't elite, but I was far from bad, and I was proud of it. But when it dawned on me that this game would essentially never die, and that new content would be released forever, I figured quitting would save my life. But I still miss the game sometimes. The setting, story, and characters were all very enjoyable.
Hopefully one day they can just sell us a full single player version.
Single-player + graphics update are all I've ever wanted. This is wonderful
i use to really love ffxiv but kinda lost interest when they stopped making job quests for older jobs finished endwalker not sure if i will continue
Bills are my main issue. Unfortunately, my work schedule doesn't grant me the time commitment I would need to play. I hope my situation will improve in the future.
I'll play after the trust system update
I've been hesitant about getting into 14 because of the whole multiplayer focus. I just hate multiplayer games unless its something like Mario Kart. So seeing this more single-player option makes me really want to join, but I'll probably wait until I can get my hands on a PS5 or a new computer just to make the most out of the graphics update.
Is performance/social anxiety really the main reason people are turned off MMOs? I liked WoW enough back in the day, but the idea having to coordinate some schedule with others as if it was some work project really doesn’t appeal to me anymore. When WoW Classic came out, I started playing for the nostalgia, but I got to level 20 or so before I lost interest.
A lot of gamers (and especially FF fans) are older now. There are enough social interactions and obligations with family, work, and friends. When I game, the whole point is to retreat into my man cave for an hour or two, relieve stress, and play a game the way I want to play it.
Get rid of subscriptions then I'll play
I tried so many mmo games including FF14 and I just couldn't get into any of them and got bored so quickly. Online or single player mmos are just overwhelming for me and a huge time waster.
OK NSP but there's 0 walkthroughs for this game for some reason even though its sooooo popular and its pay to play so I got stuck early on during ARR and im not gonna pay to play a game I can't play as u can imagine the constant ass kissing of FF14 I find quite infuriating cause I can't play it from my brief experience the community was a toxic sithole not that a popular youtuber would have to worry about that your thoughts
I like everything about ffxiv….except for the “spam a complex cocktail of hot bar actions in 2 seconds” mmo fighting mechanic :/
That’s not my issue. My issue is I have to pay for both ps network and the XIV trial. I feel like it should be one or the other.
The FF14 lvling experience is already single player, I tried playing it with 4 friends and the game put every road block in our way to stop us from grouping . Throwing each of us in different areas for class quests ect.. We only got to group in 5 mans, not exactly an mmo experience compared to say GW2 or hell even New World.
I would love a “FF XIV Offline” version similar to “Dragon Quest X Offline”
Is their any word on an Xbox version coming? Would love to play this, but don’t have a pc that is capable of running it and don’t have the means to invest in a second console
It's not the anxiety of playing with others that keeps some of us away. It's having to wait 25-30 minutes in queue per dungeon as ranged DPS during Stormblood that does it. I suck at healing, have no idea how to tank effectively, and I'm already sick of having to bug the FC over and over. Got the language options ticked, logged in during peak hours, maybe I just have terrible luck and MMOs just aren't for me. Even with matchmaking, the amount of effort I have to put in just to group as DPS inevitably pulls me back to offline, single player content. I plug in the Pixel Remasters and the things just work out of the box. No pressure, quick and easy.
Just gimme the robots Square. I am so looking forward to this.
TBH most problems this game has are acceptable out of respect for its sheer greatness. I'll play it no matter what. I'm excited for the next story arc. 3 cheers. Hurray. Seriously, the trust system makes a Lotta content very difficult. The AI doesn't seem to understand certain things. So I'll still play with ppl even though I'd rather not
they can shoehorn "single player" into the game but its still a grindy subscription mmo at it's core.
The issue I have with FF14 and the reason I left FF14, is I’m was still playing the first part of ARR.
The reason was I reach a roadblock, if you put story progression dungeon behind a Online mode that must be complete before the story progresses for i to continue the game.
but you can’t progress if players keep voting you out. I just manage to do one story progress dungeon. But there is the second one.
Till they added solo them but even that no good as you not allow to get experience or take your AI chocobo in them.
Hence why I quit, and that after I bought the two expansion.
The question is this if this is true what does it mean for us, do you have to buy it again and expansion.
I never like MMO, it because of locking story progression with online with other players. if you can’t progress story then what the dam point.
There be MMO that don’t put story progression dungeon that only with players. the other expansion past HW let you use AI bots in story but not in ARR and HW.
* yes I will come back when trust system comes, into ARR. I only had one class set up.
In my (short) experience, the FF14 community is one of the most helpful and friendliest gaming communities.
I've played a lot of online games and have seen some real toxicity, I'm still impressed every time I get on
i think to really update the game it needs to go back and voice alot of the main dialogue from Realm Reborn onwards (im aware voice acting becomes more prominent in later expansions) the graphic update is dope and the mechanics adjustments are cool too, but voice acting just brings it all together in my opinion.
So… They're going to make the PS5 version run better too? Please…?
I'm the only one upset that they are focusing on graphics update only for past 8 years on FFXIV there a lot of issues and restriction in the game Most FF fans and SE excuses are " game run on Old engine, the game was made like 10 years ago" but now when the time to show the next 10 years plan was Only Massive Graphic update ? WTF ?
i'll never play it because they took all the resources from ffxi for that heap of whale shit that was ffxiv before a realm reborn. to this day i'm still bitter, they could've used that team to rebuild ffxi and keep it going strong, ffxi is reaching its 20th ani.
I'm not worried about multiplayer, I'm overwhelmed by the hundreds of hours needed to play through FFXIV's story.
But what date do these changes begin?
I thought 14 is online game? They shut down?
It would be a big mistake to fire Yoshida who has saved the game that was close to brink of death.
Trust System – I am very happy that they are going to be adding the Trust system for the dungeons before Shadowbringer. This will help a lot for those who want to level up DPS instead of being constantly stuck in queue that can take a while to get in. Especially for players who have anxiety playing with others I can understand.
I also have an anxiety when playing the tank role in dungeons. I am perfectly fine playing healer who has the responsibility to keep everyone alive, but when it comes to playing as a tank and leading a group, I start to feel little nervous lol.
I'm not an MMO fan, but after hearing that FFXIV has the best storyline in the franchise by so many (including on this channel), I was planning to put my anxiety aside and start this year. But with this new announcement, if it isn't a sign. 🤣
It's hard to say that the story is the 'best' when the 1st 60 hours are just mediocre and the next 20 hours are just running around a boring snowy field. I know the game gets 'good' but do we really need to wait 80 hours for that to happen? I would be okay with this if the Skip to the 'Good' part option didn't cost another $20USD and was just free.
Well let's be honest the only reason I haven't played 14 in 11 is lack of other players to play with.
will it be offline playable?
who actually thought they were gonna out NFTs in their Biggest money making games (final fantasy & Dragon Quest) makes 0 sense to come up with that stupid conclusion
It isn’t becoming a single player, just adding more tools for single player. The MMO and RPG will likely be separated up to 7.0.
The problem isn’t about single players, it’s because the mmo audiences. Most mmo players don’t like having single player storytelling in the genre. One of that is the choices of your character (which is something other FF games don’t let you to overwrite the storyline just to fit someone opinions)
Some people in this community will literally come up with any excuse not to try the game. Outside of not being able to afford a sub, I really don't empathize with anyone's reasoning. Even then, there's a free trial, so you still have the opportunity to try out up to the end of Heavensward without giving them a penny. There are a few restrictions with the free trial, but it's not going to prevent you from doing the story.
