  1. 1:00:30 he hit the nail on the head. Its easy to just say:"My way or the highway". Actual ,genuine, leadership is difficult cause you're in it for EVERYONE to succeed not just you. Its not a priviliege , its an honor and responsobility.

And the fact that a Twitch streamer has a clearer grasp on what good leadership should look like then most world leaders out there is both funny and scary as hell

  3. Gold River honestly reminded me of YoshiP, except Gold River had more authority in his hands in how he wanted the game to be, and everyone below him just follows his orders no matter how absurd it was. Granted he is good friends with the owner of the company, and his bro wanted him to just have fun before he pass away eventually.

YoshiP is given the position to control 14, but he still doesnt have full authority and have to rely on the people below him doing their job well. And his main job is making sure everyone can peacefully do their own job, while still doing his own job at the same time. It was crazy to think that an MMO could be remade in such an evolving way, slowly morphing as time passes until they fully transformed. Cant do that with most MMO where the story is set in stone and all the players have to do is go thru it. The story in 14 changes as time goes by and the player themselves are part of the story.

  4. You have to understand how insane the fact that Square suspended charging for subscriptions for 1.0 was. They didn't give "compensation" or in-game currency or some other garbage that is standard for basically everyone – they gave up all revenue because they didn't think people should continue to pay for their bad product.

  5. I could never afford to have PS2 nor to actually have all he attachments needed to play FF11 which I remember walking into game stop you would have to pay I forget $179.99 to $200.00 on top of PS2 Cost to Play FF11. Being in 8th Grade my Friend Josh who I later found that he had Ps2 and he Played FF11, I watched him play the game and to me it was unreal. Coming to US in 2000 from Ukraine we where very poor and when I got my first Ps1 Console in 2001 I cherished the shit out of it. It thought me a lot. This brings back Nice memories.

  6. Asmongold: "I don't understand why US companies don't do things like create a task force to try and figure out what needs fixing and use that to polish games."

Asmon, we do an they're called the QA Team. The problem is all companies do is shit on them and blame them for 'creating' bugs that they find in the developers games and decide whether to fix them or not or whether they are problematic or not and they usually then just turn around and blame QA for bad releases when 9.9/10 times the QA teams did find those bugs and flagged them, but the developers have a deadline to meet so they push the games out anyway. It's sad, but QA usually get paid terribly, and they are typically not even seen as part of the team. I'm happy to see that not only is a QA team in blizzard Unionizing, but another known outsourced QA team in Montreal just Unionized as well.

  7. Surprised that Asmon remembers Flhammin and her connection to Minfilia. He should really do the Alchemist quests, there are some very interesting tidbits of story about the events with the Goobue and Thancred as well.

  8. I remember getting shit on because I played a Dearh Knight in WotLK. I played that for over a year, and sadly say I was a large guild leader who got hacked, and our guild was emptied because of my power. I remember being on the phone with Blizzard for 2 days. We got most of our stuff back, but WOW just turned me off after that, even though I had at least 5 characters on each side. Favorite player besides Death Knight was Palidin.

  9. 21:11 for all its current faults, WoW really was ahead of its time. It was SUPERBLY polished and expertly done. It was an era where Blizzard wasn't encumbered by corporate skunks breathing down their necks. Nope they took their time, made it into a well constructed system. Sadly those days are long dead.😥
But it did make the setting for what other MMO's needed to aware of. It was and still is a groundbreaker.

  10. Yoshi is one of the greatest example of how important it is to get someone as a creator that loves and understand the game, I mean look at Asmon, he was totally clueless and disinterested in Square Enix game, most of the chats were mocking at Final Fantasy games, calling them weebs and trash, and how irony now everyone urging Asmon to continue his FFXIV gameplay.

  11. FromSoft was around in the 90s as well and most of their titles back then were trash outside of Armored Core. They weren't widely considered a good developer until Demon's Souls came out.
