[FFXIV 6.2] New Steps of Faith Solo Instance – Revamped Patch 2.55 Fight Against Vishap

Used to be a jank trial fight, now it ‘s a pretty cool solo instance. Prepped a file on my cute alt, Josalyn. You might recognize her if you’re cultured. Took me a bit to remember how Summoner worked, so I apologize for messy play.

This solo instance uses mechanics made common in later expansions, notably some exaflares, and the pizza dodging AOE earthshakeer thing.

  1. definitely more interesting than what it eventually became; a plain dps grind.

But sad to see the other mechanics outright erased. (the tethers, the towers, the cannons)

  2. While it is surely better gameplay wise, the Monster Hunter siege style quest where monster is advancing slowly while you shoot it with canons and binders was cool and will be missed for what it was

  3. Its kinda hard to like any of this. its a good thing they changed older content so newer players could clear it. But it sucks when the changes depart from what the earlier players experienced. It makes new players and older ones seem like they played a different game with the same name.

  4. Wow o.o this right here is how you do a fight nicely. Did you see the adventures die, one by one? Seeing Ishgard’s Dragoons actually do something is nice too. I wish DRGs can actually dodge attacks while jumping too, but oh well.
