  1. I leveled blue mage pretty early on, at the start of HW. I didn't aim to or anything, but job seemed neat and fun, and I liked the challenge of starting off weak and learning the spells I'd need to survive. It ended up being my highest level job for a long time. I like to experience dungeons blind, but I don't like to inconvenience others with my ignorant blundering. Thanks to BLU, I was able to come into boss fights fresh, and figure them out on my own, without a group carrying my dead body across the finish line. I was able to take the dungeon at my own pace, enjoy the sights and hog all of the loot. And this is all before the duty support system was implemented. By the time you get to ShB, the duty support and trust system kick in, and there's that much more content you can enjoy without bothering others. Oh, yeah, I also got all the primal horses while I was getting the spells, so that worked out well too. Oh yeah, and the seals you get from the weekly carnivale can be exchanged for aetherite tickets. 110 per week, meaning basically free travel unless you really go nuts.

  2. I actually just finished BLU, got the titles and all the learnable mob/boss spells was learned a long time ago so just needed to clear the carnivale. The most recent XIV updates, I think from the live letter even, Yoshi-P said h wants to do more Blu stuff. Sadly no timetable but its something. I started to finally clear the relic from each expansion and blu went brrrr on any requirement that needed FATE drops. My take is that blu is for blowing through previous content long as you're not forced into some rule like "must be this job and/or with this weapon equiped". Other stuff like the blu acheivements I'll see if I can complete them by throwing up a party finder.

  3. you want something hard to do solo and has immense prestige? Palace of the Dead Solo is exactly that, obviously very different from a raid or trial, but still something you would need to put together like a puzzle.

  4. Blue mage is really good to do fates for relic weapons, specifically the resistance weapons, it requires a lot of fates grinding and blue mage can do it fast. They also look very cool

  5. Advice from someone that got blu to lvl 70 in heavensward pretty much solo. Fates are your friend! Not the enemies in the fates but around them. Join a fate and instead of killing the fate enemies, kill the normal enemies around it. you will get that lovely exp boost still and get your exp bar shooting up at a decent speed. Sure there is faster ways but if you going solo or not past Heavensward this way works wonderfully
