Great video! It is a rather convoluted process but once you know how to do it, it’s no problem!
Typically, the crafted gear will be 20 ilvl under the current cap. Alliance 24 man raid gear will be 10 under the current cap (no upgrade available) and 8 man Alliance (normal) will also be 10 below the current cap for the most recent tier. As you said, Savage raiders get access to the best gear from the get go – provided you can clear. Extremes also give high end loot, but are usually limited to weapons or accessories.
When relic weapons for this expansion come out, they will be on par with the best gear available.
The way this works and the wsy restrictions ease as better gear pieces become available ensures that people who want to do high end content can join without needing to grind endlessly to get into it. You can grab crafted gear or a mix of that and whatever you can afford with tomes and it should boost you above the entry ilvl for any given piece of content. Long after the loot locks are removed, you may still want this stuff for glamor… I know I do!
So you mentioned you need one alliance raid 1 token for twine now, and said you'd need 1 raid and 1 raid 2 token for twine later. Does that mean you can stockpile twine and coating now for later if you are too far behind? Or will it be a separate twine/coating that requires 1 of each?
Also, unless I'm mistaken, in addition to savage raids the extreme trials also themselves offer a method to increase your weapons ilvl, but I don't know what the min ilvl to get into those are so I don't know how viable that is as an option.
