Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers 2021 Review | A 'Relatively' New Players Experience

It was the reputation of this expansion that dragged me into the game. Does it live up to the hype?

  1. I actually think the trust system is the best way to experience dungeons for the first time. Not because it's a fluid experience, but because you get additional character interaction as you go. Holminster Switch especially is really good with alisaie…

  2. now i feel a bit dirty i skipped all the cutscenes and not voiced conversations, but with them the storyquests would take 100 times longer to complete and i wanted the dungeons/raids to be unlocked πŸ™

  3. this whole series of videos has been a joy to watch, I cant wait to experience Endwalker later this year, but i also cant wait to hear your thoughts on it too. The quality of refinement reached in shadowbringers not only excties me for endwalker and beyond, it also gives me real hope for the next Final fantasy MMO when it comes.
when the final chapter does eventually come for FFXIV, I sincerely hope that the team in their entirety are allowed to take up the next iteration and continue building where they left off in terms of story, environment, music and acting from 14.

Even if the next iteration doesnt come for another decade, even if it becomes VR, it gives me high hopes for what they might achieve if the 14 team are at the helm.

  4. I'm still slowly working my way to this expansion. I still got almost a little under half of storms blood I have to get through.

But I will take this advice because trust me I've been hearing nothing but praise about this expansion and a lot of stuff that keeps going through my head is man this expansion must be fantastic.

Knowing a little bit about not get too hype when going into this is actually some good advice but I think I'm just going to be hyped no matter what because I will no longer have to be stuck in the slog fest with storms blood

  5. All your reviews made me smile and remember exactly why I love this game so much. It's refreshing to see the praise that I couldn't exactly put into words as I went through these stories as they happened, when there's so many who don't look beyond more than the first two layers.

I also think the key to my burn out is staring me in the face thanks to you and I have some soul searching to do πŸ™‚ Thank you for these videos and I hope you enjoy Endwalker with us as we go together~!

  6. A personal moment from Shadowbringers that'll always stick out in my brain. When it first launched, I couldn't play it for the first day and a half of early access, because I had just moved out of my parents house and into my own apartment, and I had to wait for the internet guy to get here to set it up in the apartment. And he was LATE! So, I didn't have long to play before I was gonna haveta go to bed to keep a sleep sceduale for when I went back to work in a few days. I went and did Alisae's story first, and picked up the quest 'The Time Left to Us', and was like "okay, I'll log off and start heading to bed after this quest. I saw the cutscene, was blown away by it, and was then just like, "Okay. I'm not going to bed now. I'll get nightmares if I do."

  7. Started playing FF14 a few months ago because I heard the last expansion was great. Yesterday I finished Shadowbringers, and honestly I was let down by the story, I felt almost no emotional impact. Somehow I'm under the impression that Stormblood's finale was better than this one, maybe because I had no expectations there, and Shb had this ridiculous hype train behind it.
