  1. These are not big changes, but holy frick I'm so excited for the two dye channels. So many pieces of armor I had initially wanted for a glam set, I had to put away because the accent color was just not meshing well with the rest of the glam, it has a chance to be used now! So excited to play around with it.

  2. The Au Ra update looks great but…I really want white and black scale options. They're right there in the game already. Really irritates me when devs refuse to provide things like this while parading it in your face, and giving no explanation about why you can't have it.

  3. The chins and ears no longer being jagged due to the higher polycount of the faces while keeping the same style is the best way they could have chosen. It still looks recognizably "like FF14" but no longer antiquated. The higher textures on the Au Ra scales are an important upgrade though

  4. My only minor gripe is the hair colors represented here look so much more drab with the update. Might look a bit more natural but I kinda like that bright sheen of the older models.

  5. Please remind yourself that that is in development and it's just in early Peak it's not the final product!

Until the complete and resort it will have a lot of time more and it's not the final

  6. Dang, the Au Ra scales look like a part of their body instead of it looking like they were tatooed on them. In my opinion they got the biggest touch ups on them. Especially the FemRas. Might actually fantasia to one once we get that free fantasia.

  7. I'm sorry but this is an incredibly poor offering. It just looks like they've upscaled a few textures and switched the material config. Almost looks like they are using the same matcap for all skin types which might be why black skin is so plastic looking. Aside from a bit of a rework on the eyes – where has the work gone here?

  8. I remember when WoW did their character model update years ago. The design team basically abandoned how the old faces across almost every race looked and put unrelated new ones in their place. It was jarring despite the actual models looking good, and most of my characters just didn’t have a new face that captured the old look in the right way. FFXIV’s character update is perfect. Textures and polygons are all improved, the lighting is fixed, and the characters still look like their old faces. I like it.

  9. Those saying “this is such a underwhelming upgrade” holy hell you guys must be blind af. “It’s better than nothing” and yet it looks 100x better than I did before. Maybe look at all the finer details and actually take in the changes, shadows, lighting, the way the skin looks natural.

These are all pictures and pictures alone, see them in action with the armour updated and I’m sure when DT comes out you’ll all be silent on the matter.

Just no pleasing some people, determined to be grumpy and unsatisfied till the end 🙄

  10. from what was orginal proposed, they seem to have dialled back the grphical update considerably, personally i t huink they should of gone all out and built the game ready for teh next ten years, with tghese small changes the game still looks dated
