  8. I now play wow classic and annoy people in general and trade chat with things you would usually say in FFXIV.
    Like asking where the Aetheryte plaza is or where to start the MSQ or which Primal I fight first.. or where the headquarters of the Scions is.
    Its hilarious.

  9. HELP this hits extra hard because i recently tried getting back into runescape just a few days ago 🤣granted, i got bored because the nostalgia wore off in a couple of days and i stopped playing, and the reason i tried it again wasn't necessarily because i've given up on FF, but still 😭

    I can understand the latest expansion isn't what most players were expecting but downright quitting the game over it or saying it's dead or dying is quite disheartening and concerning. It's like with Halo all over again…

  20. I am one of these people, I cancelled my subscription cos there's nothing to do and tbh this had been the worst expansion of the lot. I miss Stormblood and Shadowbringers days where everything was right and FFXIV was booming. But I cancelled sub after Christmas and now moving onto other things like getting ready for Monster Hunter Wilds. If something big happens on FFXIV I will come back but if it's just weekly savage raiding and alliance raiding then I am done for now

  23. It's real. I logged on nearly every single day during Endwalker. Now I'm doing well if I remember to log on and do my retainer/sub missinons once a week. I haven't even touched 7.1 story content yet lol….

    To be fair, I played the hell out of this game and crossed off so many things. So much content. So maybe it's only right to let some more bulid back up and play in another marathon. Until then….

  24. Honestly I feel like they need to go back on thet extra rime added between patches now that we're past covid. Not that i want anyone to be over worked, but thet extra time between is brutal especially when there isnt enough to maintain infestment. I think part of why Shadowbringers hit different for me was being excited to see where the story was going, and feeling like there was enough to do to keep me busy for 3 months but not so much it was overwhelming.

    Now its just mid. There's nothing making me feel excited. Its just more of the same with content, always what we expect, and the story doesn't excite me anymore which sucks because I donlove the setting of Tural. Its all just fine, but fine doesn't mean I'm invested. I only keep my sub upped because I play with friends.

  25. Been playing for years this happens everytime, to give you time to play other games, spend time with family go on a irl adventure. Its new players that find a problem with this and youtubers and game website making click bait and stirring drama. Nothing change its been the same. But as always everyone back for new MSQ and raids so ill see you all there again.

  29. It's so weird because when I played WoW that was all the headlines you would see when sub counts dropped months after an expansion. Now those players who came here from WoW or went back to WoW are posting the same silly crap about FFXIV.

  34. i feel like they just gave up with the MSQ, Endwalkers msq after the first half was terrible. It got carried hard by the story, and now the new one is just terrible MSQ with terrible story and it is just me walking back and forth to the same locations over and over again to be presented slop that makes me cringe. YIKES

  38. I needed this. Thank you. It is getting a bit too over dramatic and how "DAWNTRAIL RUINED THE GAME", even though it just has a mediocre story with the largest amount of content to date in any expansion.

    My only true criticism, is the patch dripping. 7.0 and 7.1 are like faucets that are barely open. But once 7.2 come, they'll break that faucet and we will drown.

  44. for me it's not that anything changed with the game necessarily, but all the people I would play and talk about the game with moved on to other things

    ah well, gives me more time to level up CUL IRL. forgot how much I loved making banana bread

  47. The gag is I got tired of being disappointed by XIV’s complete fumbling if the beloved FF job system frim start to finish. (First by not including it for some reason, then scrambling to include it with an awful job crystal retcon that immediately exacerbates this game’s “single player mmo” writing because why are there 8 black mages just hanging around this hotel. To say nothing if how it flattens all classes into the unholy trinity)

    So I tried FFXI. And I’m still playing it, because aside from its outdated UI and lack of robust character customization, it’s a much better game by every metric. Huge recommend.

  48. I love the game still but it have been seeming more empty of late as people are in the content Slump. Luckily 7.2 are only a few months of and then we will have people back again for a few month MUAHAHA!
