  1. In the foreseeable future there will be no year where Covid is not ravaging around, so better get used to never going to big cons again or get comfortable with the risk.
People still don't seem to get that there will never again be a Covid free world in the same way as there is no world without influenza.
I hate it too, but that's what it is.

  2. Large game companies definitely target certain months for their big releases so unless something particularly huge is coming out they don't want to compete with you won't see them launch games outside of that. For instance, It's being wildly speculated right now that Forspoken got delayed to 2023 cause they don't want to compete with the new God of War game late this fall.

  3. For anyone thinking of visiting that Billboard FFXIV event, dont. The event runners are kinda Cringelords, and were fully aware how this would spread on social media, though they werent expecting to get clowned on quite as hard as they have. Based on discord message leaks, they seem willfully ignorant of how this reflects on the community as a whole, and how it might force Square to start being way more aggressive with its anti-mod stance because these idiots literally advertised it. Dont go, let the handful of youtubers go report on it so we can laugh through them

  4. In all my 8 years playing and all the ridiculous community controversies I've seen in FFXIV, this one is about a lightyear ahead in absurdity istg.

  5. Totally agree with Crendor.
Feels like once or twice a year (always in november and december), there's a new game coming out every week.
Then six months pass with just nothing.
It's fine. I kind of have like a AAA season and an indie season, but it IS weird, and it would be nice if it were kind of evened out.

  6. IMO covid isn't going anywhere. So I believe that you just need to keep up with you vaccines and if you want to go and risk getting sick then that's your call. But you can't blame anyone if you get sick. 😅

  7. Thank you for enlightening me about the billboard nonsense, a friend of mine linked some things about it but never told me what was going on lol I thought it was photoshopped so I was confused when she posted it without a word of context!

  8. I'm not really in the same boat as everyone else here, there's only been two games that have interested me this year, and one of them is came out at the start of this year, and the other I've been waiting until December.
